I decided to bring my partner to Florence a week ago as my family was originally from there, and I couldn't choose a better place to stay, we've probably been one of the first guests, since this marvellous place open up again with a great and glorious new management. The Villa has been completely renovated and refurbished (you can feel... More

Not a luxury hotel, but where else can you have the experience of hearing the Sisters chanting downstairs, of walking in a quiet garden overlooking Florence, of communicating with a sweet energetic nun with only expressions and gestures. She saw that I was solo, but had been charged for a double room, and worked with the booking company to lower... More

I stayed there only 2 nights, wish there were more. It's a quite place in the hills over Florence, very green, very nice nuns. The rooms are simpel, but there is all in what I needed. No problems with hot water (like someone else wrote), WiFi (ask the nuns for the code!) or mosquitos (end of April). Great view over... More

Stayed at Villa Agape two nights in May and again for three nights, in October 2013. Just loved the place for its historic background, its wonderful Italian-English garden created by its former owner, Princess Anne d'Orleans, in the second half of the XXth century and for its current high maintenance by a small group of nuns assisted by numerous staff... According to wiki "The original house was built in 1472, but was rebuilt in its present form by Giulio de Filippo Arrighetti in 1602. Arrighetti was friendly with the scientist Galileo, who retired to Arcetri, effectively under house arrest after the condemnation of his theories. A plaque on the wall commemorates their friendship. The house is also known as Il Galateo... More

Visited Villa Agape in September 2013 and was completely satisfied. Here are a few facts which you might want to consider if you're visiting: • The property has parking space on the grounds - You make yourself known through the intercom and one of the sisters opens the gate for you to enter. Therefore vehicle is safe. Great if you're... More

It could not be a better introduction to Florence than to first arrive at VILLA AGAPE and feel that you have step back in time once the doors of that majestic place open. Inside you are welcome by one of the Nun who will explain some rules and show you to you room. I had Nr 21, for single use... More

Villa Agape is an old palazzo once owned by a Ducal family, not owned by an order of Nuns, and operated as a small hotel. The building and grounds are wonderful, beautifully kept. The rooms are comfortable but somewhat spartan - fine for us, but not the Ritz. Beds were very comfortable, and bathrooms are fine - everything is clean... More

Excellent old Italian Villa with excellent garden serviced by nuns... Free parking and breakfast. Great price for 2 night compared to city center hotels. It is really fantastic to wake up in the morning with birds singing, and the view over the Florence!!! Breakfast among 200 years of great history walls. Quite simple design but of good quality. It is... More
