We were delighted that all reviews for Hotel Cestelli came true and we enjoyed a pleasurable few nights stay there recently. The hotel exudes a sense of calmness and tranquility which we felt was vital after a day of walking/queuing and sightseeing! The owners, a friendly italian/Japanese couple were always willing to share their thoughts on where best to go... More

My husband and I decided to stay at Hotel Cestelli for 4 nights in September after reading excellent reviews on the Lonely Planet and tripadvisor websites. Not only did it live up to all the great reviews, we felt it was the best hotel we stayed at in Italy even though we paid twice as much for others in Rome... More

Myself and two other women shared a large room at this hotel in June. Overall it was an excellent experience and I would stay here again. Good things: The couple who owns it went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and to share their knowledge of Florence. We ate at their recommended restaurants (fantastic) and they gave... The owners were great and really nice. They had great recommendations for restaurants and things to do around the city. I loved the location. Very close to the main attractions, but just far enough away from the crowds. The room was huge, sparsly decorated, but extremely clean. The bathroom was ok. The clingy shower curtain drove me nuts. It would... More

My partner and I spent five wonderful days in Florence. Our trip was enhanced by the oasis of the Hotel Cesteli. Hosts Alessio and Asumi, are attentive and ever present. They gave great advice to us; we really had done almost no research on what to do while we were in Florence. The hotel is well located, quiet but convenient.... More

This impeccable inn proves the worthlessness of the star rating as we have stayed in many a three- or four-star hotel we liked less well than this very special establishment, which beautifully reflects the cultural and artistic backgrounds of the attentive and genteel proprietors. Meeting this lovely couple not only enhanced our visit to Florence; it stands out as the... More

We had heard the usual good words about this place, and so booked there for a couple of nights. In the end, it was ok, but had some odd elements that will probably keep us from returning. I guess you get what you pay for, which isn't saying the place was bad--for the cost it's probably the best deal in... More

Have just returned from 4 nights at Hotel Cestelli, and am still raving to everyone about this wonderful small hotel. The shared bathroom is a small inconvenience (we didn't hear noise from other rooms, by the way, in room 2, so ask for this room if you worry about that factor) but absolutely overwhelming this negative is the terrific combination... We booked this hotel based on a lot of praise in Tripadvisor. We were assured that even though the room didn't have bathroom, this was no queues or problems. We were very friendy received, but after one night we cancelled the rest of our stay. It is annoying that there are five rooms sharing the toilets, and we had to... More

We stayed here for two nights at the end of April. The hotel is very comfortable, clean, reasonably priced and it is very difficult to believe it is only a 1-star. Alessio & Asumi made our stay really special. We got engaged while in Tuscany and they gave us champagne and chocolates to celebrate - a really lovely touch. They... More

Staying in Uffizi

Neighborhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
