I will first start by saying that the hotel is at the top of three flights of stairs, so if this is something that might concern you look elsewhere. However, if you are planning to climb both the Duomo and the Campanile, three flights of stairs is nothing and the view from the rooftop terrace makes it well worthwhile. The... More

When the service ask if you need help with the suitcases, hell say yes! Once you are upstairs, everything becomes better. The service was so nice and polite! The rooms are lovely, and the mini-bar is for free (no alcohol, though). The view from the top of the building is wonderful. It is located in the very center of the... More

This hotel was finally above my expectations. Despite being at 3rd floor without an elevator, the overall experience was very positive. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast surprised me with the variety of offered goods. They also had a good wifi and a clean room with good air condition and tv. Very special vews from the roof terrace that... More

The hotel is ideally located for all sites in Florence! The staff were brilliant and the rooms were lovely! We only had breakfast on the last morning but wished we had gone before! On arrival we were told we had a free bottle of Prosecco as we were there for three nights, which was a lovely touch! The roof top... More

No one likes a cold shower but Is it too much to ask for at least warm if not hot water after walking around Florence at hottest time of the year in order to refresh! Not pleased with poor attempts by hotel to keep us informed on when th broken boiler would be working. Also non too pleased by offer... More

Top marks for location, friendliness of staff ( special mention for Arturo), cleanliness, and rooms. Roof top terrace is an experience of its own. Amazing views of Florence from up there. Complimentary bottle of champagne on arrival was a nice touch.

Cardinal Hotel is a very cute and clean little gem in Florence. We booked it without noticing that the hotel has too many stairs (big ones) that our mother could not take. We had to cancel our booking once we got there but it seemed very clean and the receptionist was beyond expectation helpful and nice. He helped us find... More

I give this hotel 5 stars, not because it is a 5 star hotel, but because it is excellent for what it is. The rooms are basic but good, the included breakfast is very nice and there is an excellent rooftop terrace with great 360 views of Florence (highly recommend having your breakfast up here and maybe a drink at... The hotel is very misleading on the website with all of their added features. There was no safe in the room which I was disappointed about as a female solo traveler. There was a lot of noise outside. The breakfast was not great. I was not impressed really at all. They did give a great restaurant recommendation for down the... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
