Cardinal Hotel is a very cute and clean little gem in Florence. We booked it without noticing that the hotel has too many stairs (big ones) that our mother could not take. We had to cancel our booking once we got there but it seemed very clean and the receptionist was beyond expectation helpful and nice. He helped us find... More

I give this hotel 5 stars, not because it is a 5 star hotel, but because it is excellent for what it is. The rooms are basic but good, the included breakfast is very nice and there is an excellent rooftop terrace with great 360 views of Florence (highly recommend having your breakfast up here and maybe a drink at... The hotel is very misleading on the website with all of their added features. There was no safe in the room which I was disappointed about as a female solo traveler. There was a lot of noise outside. The breakfast was not great. I was not impressed really at all. They did give a great restaurant recommendation for down the... More

we did a road trip and came across this hotel. it was a bit of a hassle to find it but eventually got there. the staff helped us with the parking and the guys at the reception were super helpful especially with food recommendations. Rooms are clean but beds kinds soft for my liking. the breakfast in the morning was... More

After several months of research to find the perfect hotel to end our 2 1/2 week anniversary European vacation to say we were disappointed, shocked, and frustrated to learn our reservation had been cancelled when we arrived with our confirmation email in hand would be an understatement! Due to a suspicion of fraud, our credit card company denied the charge... More

My wife and I stayed there for 3 nights last september for our honey moon trip to italy, the location is in a walking distance to Piazza Santa Maria. yes there is no elevator and you have to climb up narrow stairs up to the 3rd floor but the staff were very gentle so they helped us with our bags.... We stayed 4 nights at this great little hotel. Yes it's on the 3rd floor (66 and a half steps and no lift) but it's an old building and the staff will bring your bags up for you. The staff are superb (English speaking) and very helpful whether you need something arranging or advice or recommendations for restaurants etc. The... More

We stayed for three nights during our honeymoon. Florence is a very beautiful city and hotel cardinal is a very clean and friendly place in the center of the city. The front desk was very helpful with sightseeing and food suggestions. They also helped with reservations to museums via phone. We certainly recommend this hotel to everyone and will stay... More

Looooved it! My husband and I stayed for 3 nights this week- our first time in Italy! The hotel is 3 flights up with no lift...they have people to help you- its no big deal! Its located right by the Duomo. Upon arrival, we were offered a drink or cafe. Then taken to our beautiful room...they had given us a... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
