This hotel had a great location, being close to all the sites and friendly staff but practically no air-conditioning and it was the middle of Summer. When returning from a long day of touring we were given a fan from reception as they said that's just how the system copes in Summer. We already had similar issues at our two... More

The hotel location is excellent. The location is perfect. The breakfast is plentiful. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff is very helpful, friendly and accommodating. I eagerly look forward to returning to Florence and staying at Hotel Bretagna!

First of all, the only reason this review gets at least 2 stars is because the staff did what they could to salvage our stay. The main problem: the room. The owner of this hotel must do something about the very tired, nearly tattered interior (of room 21, at least) and general maintenance. The bathroom tub started spitting black mildew... More

This a wonderful old world mansion on the Corsini stretch, overlooking the River Arno. The hotel is located so well that almost everything is a 10 min walk - both sides of the river. Our junior suite was very large with a high ceiling - creating that extra sense of space. The vuew from our window was amazing. The bathroom... More

Bretagna Hotel in Florence advertises itself as elegant and luxurious. Room no. 8 where we were staying had dirty walls, stained chairs and torn curtains. The air conditioner was extremely loud. There was no wi-fi in the room though the hotel claimed to offer free wi-fi in every room. Advantages: - comfortable bed, - clean bathroom.

The hotel was fine, the staff very friendly and efficient. The room was OK, nothing special, fairly sparsely appointed, and the bathroom was a bit cramped. It wasn't luxurious but was a good base from which to explore Florence, being right on the Arno and a five minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio. We were up early every day during... More

This is a beautiful hotel right on the river. We booked through Booking.com and got a good price, but a room that didn't have a river view. However, we were pleasantly surprised to have a room on the opposite side with French doors that opened off the outdoor walkway entrance. The hotel used to be some sort of public building.... More

The hotel is located in a Palace which was the former home of King of Holland. Location is the best part as the city centre and main places are walk-able. The lady at the reception was polite.Room was spacious and comfortable.Bathroom was luxurious too. Only thing I did not like was when it suddenly started raining and even when the... More

Staying in Uffizi

Neighborhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
