I stayed one night only so it was a short trip but I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Bretagna. I had seen it when I had last stayed in Florence and so when I was planning this trip and saw this hotel on a booking website I didn't hesitate. Great communication pre my stay. The early check in I had... More

The view and location were amazing, the breakfast was decent, and the staff was friendly and really helpful with finding things to do. We had a junior suite with a rivew view. The bed was AWFUL. It was comparable to sleeping on a rock. The shower and separate tub were both small, definitely not big enough for two people which... More

Our family stayed at the Hotel Bretagna in October 2014 and were eaten alive by mosquitoes, all over our entire bodies, the first night we stayed there. Disappointing there was no insect repellent in the rooms or warnings of how bad the mosquitoes were. Unfortunately our insect bites became badly infected as they were so red, large, itchy and nasty... More

Dear Guest, We are very sorry if you didn't enjoyed your stay because of mosquitoes. All our rooms are furnished in Mosquito Repelling Power Pad, our reception staff is available 24 hours, if you have explained the problem they would have helped you to find it. Regarding the postcards we regularly post it to Poste Italiane, if you didn't receive... More

What a great surprise this hotel was, the location was perfect just right by the river Arno and within walking distance of all of Venice's main attractions. The hotel is and old palazzo with beautiful big rooms, high ceilings and a beautiful decorated fresco in one of the reception rooms. The room we got had a fantastic view of the... More

We stopped just one night here - we had a standard room (room #2) which was actually one of the original large reception rooms of the palazzo - so it was huge with a fantastic decorated ceiling. Staff were very helpful and efficient, breakfast was excellent and the location, on the lung'arno was just perfect - a couple of hundred... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights during a six week trip around Europe. We had a room overlooking the river and spent a lot of time looking out of the window!! The hotel is well maintained and comfortable with a number of floors and soaring high ceilings. The staff were excellent and sorted out all our local sightseeing and... More

Three couples traveling together with a river view room and two other rooms in the Plaza section of this hotel and stayed for three nights. It was a great stay. It was a bit cumbersome having the main desk in another building, but the location and the staff more than made up for any in convenience in that regard. The... More

Nice hotel on the river and close to the historic sites and museums. Be sure to ask for a junior suite, 16' ceilings with art. Nice breakfast included to start your day. Non deserted entry then up an elevator to hotel lobby, no grand entry

I booked an 'Historical Suite' for 2 nights as a surprise for my husband (he thought we were booked into a B&B). He was amazed at the grandeur of the room and even though I'd done my research, it exceed all of my expectations. Straight after checking in we enjoyed a bottle of Prosecco on the small balcony off reception... More

Three of us shared a room in Florence at the Hotel Bretagna, 5 nights. Should I say it's a palace? Really, it actually is a palace dating from the 13th century, and was a showplace even in its day. Walking up the stone stairs I've never stayed in a room with such tall ceilings before!!! We spent a lot of... More
