Hotel Colorado was a 10minute walk from the train station. It is up 3flights of stairs once you reach the building though so don't bring bulky luggage as there is no elevators! The guy on reception was extremely friendly and helpful. We were only staying for one night and he gave us a map and showed us the best places... More

Rooms were average for a 1 star hotel, bathroom was clean. The room didn't have a blowdryer but it was available at the reception. Very close to the city center, just a nice walk away from the Cathedral and from the S Marco square. Friendly owner.

Their reception desk closes very early, I think around 7 pm, so make sure you arrive on time. We arrived later than that and there was no one there to let us in the building so we had to go ask the pub owner across the street to let us in. The room wasn't too bad at first. 1 queen... More

It was really horrible experience. I was staying for two nights and even kept the noise (there is Irish pub across the street with lot of noisy and drunk people) and cold, but when I switch on the light in the middle of the night there were bugs, I leave. Just terrible!

Hotel Colorado review The service in this hotel is horrendous, the landlord makes no attempt to help and accepts no responsibility for any problems in his hotel. On arriving I found that e double room I had ordered was actually 2 single beds and the room itself was too far from the router to receive wifi. I complained but the... More

Although the rooms are spacious, well priced (we got ours for €45 per night) and in a great position, our room is just not worth it. The showerhead is handheld because the clip is broken (in fact, the whole bar came off the wall when I touched it), and the tiles on the wall and floor are SO mouldy -... More

The rooms are beautiful, huge with attached baths. They over look the little road below. If you open the windows you get a nice breeze. The hotel in on the 2nd floor and there is no lift. The stairway is narrow so it's a can be pretty tedious walking up if you carry a very heavy back pack or a suitcase.... More

We booked a double room for 4nights with breakfast. When we arrived at the hotel (up 56 steps, no lift) we checked in and were told breakfast wasn't included and would be 5EUROS a day, we were given many excuses like it not being printed on her reservation, the hotel being under new management etc etc. Eventually we were given... Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
