Hotel Mia Cara is a very nice little hotel that is located really close to the station. Even though it is close to the station (10 min walk with bags) it is quiet. The front desk is open 24 hours and they are one of the few places where I saw a wheel chair lift. The rooms are clean and... More

we actually booked for Hostel Archi Rossi, but upon arriving at the hostel we were forwarded to hotel Mia Cara - just a couple of steps away. At first we were surprised that we will be staying at a different hotel but then we were glad that they did. The room was very nice. The best hotel we have stayed... More

Booked to stay in Hostel Archi Rossi, but were told we were staying next door in Hotel Mia Cara. Long spacious room with a large bathroom. Comfy beds. Had a TV AND a computer in the room also, but didn't use them. The free Wi-Fi was excellent too, nice strong signal. Breakfast was included. Hot buffet to choose from as... More

Less than a 5 min. walk from the train station (Termini) this hotel is super convenient and a good price for rather expensive Florence. There's a lovely garden courtyard with shady seating for breakfast or an afternoon lull. Rooms are small but clean and pretty; ours had a working computer and big windows opening to the garden. Reception was friendly... More

We wanted to stay in a nice hotel while in Florence, but the prices were so insanely high that we started looking at hostels with private rooms, and chanced on Archi Rossi Hostel. After a 5 minute walk from the main train station, we arrived at the hotel and were directed to the next entrance, called Mia Cara, which is... More

We stayed at the Mia Cara for 3 nights Feb 2014. I can honestly say its the worst breakfast we've ever experienced in a European hotel. The website photos are COMPLETELY inaccurate! The 'hot' food was in fact cold and inedible. We would have been fine with toast and jam and, maybe , a hard boiled egg as a bonus.... More

We got to Archi Rossi, but they sent us to Mia Cara, with no reason. Once we got to Mia Cara the concierge, in a very bad way, sent us back to Archi Rossi to do the check in. The garden connected both hotels but as Archi Rossi is a hostel and the other one a hotel, of course there... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
