We actually stayed in this bed & breakfast in March 2010 (not November) for 6 nights. It is a quirky accommodation which is a second floor flat which has been converted and divided into (I think) 5 rooms with ensuite bathrooms, the reception and breakfast area. The room we stayed in did not have a window onto the street, but... More

In walking distance from the railway station. 10 min. Near the river. Near a closed area with the American Consulate. Very friendly English speaking reception. Some rooms have no real windows. Just a little one over the door. But fine air condition. The incuded breakfast was simple with no meat or cheese. But ok. The internet connection was perfect. More

An okay place to stay for the price, but it’s not for everyone. It's nice and quiet, very central, and the breakfast - although basic - is very enjoyable. The free Wi-Fi is also a nice touch. Unfortunately the rooms are scruffy - and that's putting it mildly. Ours smelled terribly of smoke, had never seen a duster (ever), and... More

This place was spectacular! It is an apartment spaced into several rooms with a very nice central area for sitting and socializing (if there was anyone else there!). We went right after the peak season, so I think we were the only ones in the entire place. The owner is only there from ~8am to 1pm... The only irregularity was... More

The B&B is conveniently located, however there's so much better out there in Florence, that I don't see the point to stay in this ugly, small and sad B&B. The owner is not very helpful, didn't allow late check out despite the B&B was empty and charged a night we missed due to flight cancellation. At breakfast I asked a... More

Residenza Il Maggio is a wonderful choice for a stay in Florence. We stayed there for 2 nights. The location is perfect, in a very quiet and safe neighbourhood, close to the US Embassy, near to all the main attractions. The owners, Mr. Roberto and his wife, were very kind, and helped with all our questions. We were given "the... More

Il Maggio was a great place to be in, coupled with a great host- Roberto, we had a blast in Florence. Despite the fact that we were late, Roberto waited patiently for us. During our short stay, he gave advice on where to go, what to do, and when we finally had to drive off to our next destination, he... More

This is a wonderful B&B. We had room 3 which is apparently the best room, it was huge as was the ensuite, we had our own balcony. I understand some rooms may have no windows though. It was spotless and they even made our bed for us, which we didn't expect. Breakfast was wonderful, toast, pastries, yoghurt, juice, coffee, tea,... More

I came to Florence as part of a group of college students traveling together for a class. As I am quite a bit older than the rest of the students, I was having difficulty keeping up. I had the good fortune of being assigned a room at Il Maggio's, just the comfort I needed after a long day of sight-seeing... More
