Hotel Accademia is centrally located in Florence, easy walking distance to major attractions, lots of restaurants, and great gelato. It is a clean, no-frills hotel (with air conditioning) and serves a good breakfast with great coffee. We had a triple room that was quite large. One of the best things about the hotel was the staff, who were very friendly... More

We stayed one night after a long flight into Venice and a train ride to Florence. Check in was smooth and once we figured our way around the winding hallways, everything was satisfactory. Enjoyed dinner at the restaurant to the right as you leave the hotel and drinks were very good on the left of the stairs. We had a... More

Very nice stay at the Hotel Academia. Room was good size, bathroom and shower in good order. Aircon and WiFi worked. Good access to the sites of Florence. As noted, no elevator. Staff was courteous and helpful.

The staff at the Hotel Accademia were exceptionally helpful, courteous and knowledgeable about nearby restaurants and attractions. (Special thanks to Paulo, who helped us find a great place to eat on a night when we were very tired and hungry.) Our room was clean and comfortable. As other reviewers have noted, the floor plan is kind of quirky, and part... More

Small, local hotel with about 20 rooms. Interesting floor plan complete with marble stairs and wood floors. There is no elevator (typical of small hotels) but the climb isn't crushing unless you have many suitcases. My wife and I carried all of our stuff up easily in one trip. We overlooked the soccer stadium and the field lights were on... More

First thing.. stairs... more stairs... no elevator. We stayed at 4 hotels while in Italy, only one had an elevator, and we only used it if available and when we took our luggage up. This is a very nice hotel, nice location and nice people. All the different knooks and statues and stain glass windows all over!!! I could not... More

We selected this hotel for our last night in Firenze based on its excellent location, with proximity to the train station (about 5-6 blocks), as well as a recommendation of a friend who had stayed there. After dragging our luggage up the usual Italian number of stairs (perhaps 20-30; no elevator) to the reception, we (a couple) were given room... More

The value here is not just money but your time. Really one block from the duomo, near everything that matters in the center. Rooms are spacious and air conditioning is a major plus. Dont come here for the views, there arent any. Watch out for mosquitoes in Florence, even when the weather is nice they can be a night time... More

Expect to walk up LOTS of stairs (no elevator?). This hotel has a bizarre/interesting floorplan & bare rooms, but is very close to all the sights. 1/2 block from the market, 2 blocks from the Duomo. WiFi was spotty in the room but fine in the lobby. Decent, clean, bare-bones lodging in the heart of town. Cigarette smoke fairly pervasive... More

This is a charming hotel in an excellent location. Check in is on the 2nd floor. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is decent. If you have mobility issues, please note that there is no elevator and access to most rooms requires stair climbing. Free WiFi is available.
