My daughter and I got back home yesterday from a lovely three nights at the Al Canto and I feel compelled to write my first review on Tripadvisor. We usually holiday in 4 or 5 star properties so this was a bit of a gamble for us. Al Canto is a bit out of the city centre, but easily reachable... More

Al Canto is a family-run B&B just a short and easy bus ride from the heart of Florence. It not only has wonderful rooms (all giving out on to a central courtyard) with every amenity, but the atmosphere is warm and friendly. Linda, an art historian who has lived in Florence for over twenty years, is a gold mine of... More

First, full disclosure. I met the owner of El Canto 30 years ago while working in Europe. She was great then and is great now. This is a wonderful small B & B about 15-20 minutes from downtown Florence. It is built on an old Roman foundation with walls from the middle ages. It has been completely redone and is... More

I came for two nights and stayed for two weeks! This delightful B&B is a short and very convenient bus ride from the city center, yet provides the tourist with an oasis of calm after a frantic day of sightseeing. The rooms are cozy, well equipped and immaculate. The breakfast was always first rate. If one is traveling with family... More

This B&B was delightful! It is about 2-3 miles from the city center & very accessible by bicycle. Others told us public transport was also very convenient. The bedroom, with A/C, was lovely & the bathroom was even lovelier. The breakfast was excellent. But the best part was the hostess, Linda - she is very friendly, knowledgeable, & willing to... More

This B&B was excellent! Linda went above and beyond to make our trip special. She provided great suggestions and a very insightful art class that prepared us for the ufizi. The room was very clean and homey. The amenities such as breakfast and kitchen access were a nice touch. The location was good because it allowed for peace and quite... More

We had a great time staying at this B&B. Calm and clean. Very nice to be in this quiet part of town after spending the day among the crowd. Very well connected by bus to Florence centre. And the host gave us fantastic tips on good restaurants and ART/MUSEUMS.

Al Canto is a spectacular destination for all those seeking to visit Tuscany. Linda was an incredible host who seemed to know every restaurant, gallery, and site to see in Florence. I was surprised at the spectacular amenities for such a reasonable price and the hosts were a real bonus. I will definitely be returning!

My friend and I went backpacking for a month and stopped in Florence! This B&B made our entire trip! It was perfect! It was very clean! The location was great, very easy to get to by bus from downtown! Overall it was our best experience in Italy!
