We chose Florence for the start of our honeymoon and the Hotel Europa because of the reviews on TripAdvisor. And it didn't disappoint. We arrived late at the airport and got a taxi to the Hotel. Slightly expensive. but it was midnight and we'd just got married the night before!!! We were greeted at reception and shown straight to our... More

We only had one night in Florence and chose to stay at Hotel Europa based on the reviews we read at TripAdvisor. It was a perfect place for us. We stayed in a very nice room that had a lovely balcony patio with a view of the Duomo. The bathroom was small but standard for Europe. Garcim, the owner, was... More

Don't be put off by the less than inviting exterior, or by the cramped old-fashioned lift, because once you reach the second floor reception desk you will be glad you selected this hotel. Gassim was a charming, helpful, warm host who greeted us by name every time we met. Having arrived after an overnight train ride from Paris around 8:00... More

Does not look inviting from the outside, the reception is on the second floor accessed via a tiny lift. We were pleasantly surprised by the large spacious room and the warmth and friendliness of our host who spoke very good english and was extremely helpful. The location is perfect, 15 mins walk from the station and about 5 mins from... More

The Hotel Europa is the perfect place in Florence. It's within 2 minutes walking distance of the Duomo, and thus, is cental to all the other main sights. It is very reasonably and fairly priced. As it's a family run hotel, the service, hospitality, standards, attention to detail are superb. Gassim, the owner, is the one of the most charming... More

We stayed at the Hotel Europa for our 3-day stay in Florence in August 2005. We were hesitant at first, but quickly found the hotel had an attentive staff, a wonderful location, a quiet spacious room (we had a suite room with a private bathroom) with a quaint view of a quiet courtyard. Regarding our room - the bed was... More

This hotel completely met our expectations. Only 2 blocks from the Duomo and also close to the main train station, the manager was also extremley helpful with his recommendations regarding nearby eating establishments. We stayed in one of the newley remolded suites...a must. it was the biggest room we stayed in, in all of italy. They went above and beyond... More

Everything about this hotel was wonderful! When we arrived in Florence by train from Rome we took a taxi to this hotel (a good idea, although it wasn't too far, but you don't want to be walking the narrow streets of Florence with luggage. When you first arrive at the hotel I must admit it is a little strange. The... More

Wow what cant I say about this place, first it is centrally located about a 2 minute walk from the Duomo. Second when I was there it was game 7 of the NBA finals (Pistons vs. Spurs) and I am from metro Detroit and they did not have the game at the hotel, the receptionist who is the owners daughter... I found Hotel Europa through Trip Advisor. I must say, the positive reviews are accurate. We had a wonderful stay. Our room was large and extremely clean. We had a great view of the Duomo. The service could not be better. Free internet was like icing on a cupcake.

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
