We stayed 4 nights at the Johanna and could not have been more happy, large room and bathroom by european standards, reasonable price especially for Florence but what really made or stay was the superb staff, especially Luca, they were helpfull with everything and there restuarant reccomendations gave us a chance to experience the true Tuscan Trattoria, Sostanza or Tito... We spent 5 nights in this charming hotel in April and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The best description would be a B and B with a homely feel to it. You have your own keys and when you come back in the evening it's like being in you own private flat. The staff are extremely helpful, speak very good English and... More

A charming and comfortable place to stay in Firenze. Toscana Classica plays quietly in the background whilst you have a simple breakfast that sets you up for the day. All the staff we met were absolutely wonderful - charming, helpful, friendly. The suite was very comfortable and well maintained. Having free access to wi-fi was an unexpected delight also.

The location was great, the room was wonderful, and the friendliness of the staff was exceptional. Breakfast was also very good. A charming B&B that I strongly recommend.

This is a great boutique B + B. The staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival. The rates aren't "budget", but they're very good value for what you get: large rooms, your own bathroom, toiletries, wifi, a generous breakfast and helpful staff. There's also a lift to the first floor (where the rooms are located) which helps a lot... More

Dear guests from Sydney, Australia, it was great reading your review with so many good words about us - the residence (a boutique b&b is a very accurate definition), the friendly staff, our quiet location. We stayed 2 nights after flying into Florence. It is on a nice quiet street and within easy walking distance of the galleries and sights of the city. Our room was clean and comfortable and we slept very well. The soft lighting and quiet music playing as soon as we walked into the entrance at Johanna was vey welcoming and... More

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights, and it was good value for money. It is on a quiet and safe-feeling street (the Swedish consulate is there). The main attractions are a 10 minute walk away--straight shot so it is hard to get lost. The staff are very friendly and kind. We would stay here again.

If your desire in travelling is to experience the charm of the places you visit, we strongly recommend the Residenza Johanna I. It is located in a less touristy part of Florence almost due north of the Duomo about a 5 to 10 minute walk. There you realize you are actually in Florence with charming assistance from the staff and... More

The photos on the web led me to believe we would have a slightly more comfortable room. We booked a standard twin at 125 euros per night and whilst not without charm, it was in need of a fresh coat of paint - other double roooms may have been more decoratively appealing. I preferred the common areas to the room.... More
