Sovigliano was the perfect base for our exploration of the Tuscan countryside. The houses were built in the 13th-15th century time-frame but are updated with modern amenities. It is located within 0.5-2 hours driving distance of most major towns, and we could usually visit 2 towns in a day at a moderately easy pace. Unlike another reviewer on this website,... More

Wonderful spot in central Toscany. All major tourist hot spots are close by and can easily be done within a daytrip. 5 minute drive to the town of Tavarnelle val di Pesa. We stayed in a huge apartment, 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, sittingroom, small kitchen but huge dining area, plus private terras. Clean and with all the facilities you need... More

Really nice agriturismo, in a quiet location, with great views, a good pool and surrounded by vines and orchards. Run by a friendly family, who serve breakfast and allow you to take it anywhere in the extensive grounds. Close to Tavernelle, where there are good restaurants, and within an hour's drive of Florence and Siena.

First: We cannot understand reviews like "Do not go to there" - unbelievable. The owner family was very attentive at any time of our 8 days-stay and on the other hand very discrete - they appeared only on demand. The beautiful surrounding, vinyards, the nice park which we used to take breakfast day by day, fetching what we did like... More

Not an easy place to find but well worth it once you have. Very friendly and helpful hosts. You have the use of the kitchen and your own fridge which makes self catering an option as you are quite a way from a nearby restaurant. Eating out in the gardens you are spoilt for choice of locations. it is a... More

We have been going to Sovigliano for the last five years and have always enjoyed our stays there. The Bicego family is consistent in their efforts to please and to provide a response to any reasonable request. The location of the property (with its own vineyards and olive groves) in Tavernelle is ideal for exploring Tuscany and the town itself... More

We had a wonderful week at the Sovigliano. The location is perfect for visiting Tuscany (Siena, San Gimigniano, Pisa, Volterra etc). The accomodations were way beyond our expectations. We were in a large apartment in the main farmhouse. It was very spacious (2 bdrms, living rm, dining rm, very well equipped small kitchen), very clean and extremely well maintained. Claudia... More

This place is in a great location and overlooks beautiful Tuscany complete with vineyards, olive trees and the family dogs and cat. The website doesnt do it justice. Its more beautiful than the pictures! The previous review I can somewhat agree with. The breakfast is simple and your bed doesnt get made and towels changed daily. But you have to... More

We stayed at the Sovigliano after reading reviews which ranked it #3 of 57 in it's category. After staying there for 5 nights, I am dubious about the authenticity of the previous reviews. Firstly, we found the hosts, with the exception of the daughter to be somewhat un-accomodating. It is in a good location for exploring the area but we... More

Beautiful place in a beautiful region. Main guest building is old but artfully restored. Rooms are large, tastefully decorated and very well kept. The grounds are attractive and well maintained. Swimming pool is large with splendid views across the neighbouring hills. Good extra facilities for guests include a nice lounge, breakfast room and food prep area. Owners are helpful and... More
