Pictures on hotel website deceptive. Not well maintaned--pools were dirty , cracked tile, surrounded by weeds. Room had old furniture. Bed was awful. Room was above kitchen. Food was mediocre. Reminded us of an old motel in ill repair. Management was however very nice. Strange. more

The resort is located just out of the charming town of Borgo San Lorenzo and it is very convenient if you have a car. An historic railway gets you from Borgo San Lorenzo to Florence in around 40mins. Monsignor Della Casa is a selfcatering resort with some hotel facilities. This is a lovely small resort, made up of typical restored farm buildings, tastefully done, with no frills/fuss. There is a so-called family pool, where the kids can go crazy (and they do!), and a quiet pool, for those travelling without children. Staff/Management were most helpful and friendly, food excellent. The service is very personal and welcoming. The surroundings are so serene, the nature is gorgeous and the actual resort is very authentic. We stayed with the extended family and rented two villas with a private pool. It was lovely. It's a beautiful hotel/ appartment with great staff, they are nice and interested and want the best for their gasts. You are near Florence and 100 km from Siena and chianti area, which you must visit. You must have a car there. Without a car it's not possible to stay there. The supermarket is about 4 km away. more
