We picked this hotel as it is very central to all the points of interests, even though the rates were slightly high. The hotel is within 10 mins walk from Florence train station, very easily reached and its facing river Arno. First impression was small and homely feel. It was not busy so the staff promptly checked us in. We... More

We stayed here over Easter , a family of three. The location is great just 10/15 minutes to the Ponte Vecchio and centre of Florence. It is set in a small square facing the river. We had a room towards the back of the hotel on the first floor. It was very comfortable, with a lovely bathroom, shower etc. The... More

Excellent hotel! We travelled with two small children, lots of luggage and a big stroller. Staff was very friendly. Everything was always clean, if something needed fixing the staff was always very helpful. We ordered a crib to accommodate one of our children, and noticed it had a small cut in one of the sides. We let the staff know,... More

First impression was not good. They would not let me check in even a little early. The clerk even gave me attitude about sitting at the breakfast table charging my phone since I couldn't check in. The breakfast is nothing special. Basically, a continental breakfast that you would get in the US. One sort of major issue was that the... More

It faces the river Arno, but on the other side (Oltrarno). It's far enough from the main touristy bits so you're not overwhelmed by the crowds but close enough that a 15min stroll will drop you right in front of the Uffizi. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Ditto for the toilet/bathroom. Our room faced the public car park... More

We selected this hotel purely on the basis of location, it was a building away from my daughters student apartment. However, it turned out to be the most comfortable stay. Nice room facing the Arno river, comfortable bed, brand new bathroom with really fantastic hot shower, fridge in the room and really everything was great. Breakfast was adequate, some meat,... More

We stayed at the Relais il Cestello in Florence in December 2014. This small, friendly and well-run hotel in the Oltrarno provided us with an interestingly new view of the city - our previous experience had always been of staying north of the Arno in the midst of the major tourist districts. The first thing we noted was the ease... More

Small hotel which entirely fulfilled my expectations. I was given the room (22) just off the breakfast room and found it delightful in every way. Remodeled and squeaky clean bathroom, real wood window that opens for fresh air, gorgeous view, adequate breakfast, good coffee, nice staff, antique furnishings, comfy bed. I read the bad reviews and found literally NONE of the issues... More

I visited Florence in August 2014, and stayed in Relais in Cestello with my family. The front desk and reception were very friendly, and accommodated us even though we had to cancel some nights and didn't charge us. The breakfast was small and elegant, having 4 choices of cereal, a type of pastry, croissants, jam, nutella, yogurt, and coffee. The... More

It wasn't the highest standard hotel but it was far from the most expensive too. We found it very serviceable, only minutes walk from Ponte Vecchio bridge and on to the sights of Florence, whilst clean and comfortable. The staff assisted us in arranging secure parking for the car and were friendly and helpful during our stay. Breakfast was on... More
