We stayed at the Hotel Davanzati for four nights, from October 6 - 10. We stayed in room #307, a junior suite, which faced the back. It was very clean, nice sized and quiet with a great bathroom. Breakfast was tasty and we were offered free drinks - prosecco - in the evening - which was a nice, unexpected touch.... More

We just returned from a trip to Italy and found the Davanzati Hotel wonderful. In all of our travels over the years, we have never met more hospitable people. They were friendly, generous with great information and went out of their way for us. We needed to leave for our early morning flight at 5:30 am. Fabrizio, the owner, was... More

We have just returned from spending 3 delightful days in Florence. Having previously visited both Rome and Venice Florence was no disappointment and proved to be romantic and truly breathtaking. We were looking for accommodation that would allow us to enjoy as much of what the city had to offer during our brief stay. The Davanzati in this regard has... More

I think this is a great affordable hotel to stay at. It's in a safe neighborhood, great staff, free internet and computers to use, located in a central location, and breakfast is included. Yes, it's not a sophisticated boutique hotel (which are my favorite kinds), but this place was very friendly and met our needs. The hotel is small so... More

Stayed here during our honeymoon and absolutely loved the place, the family, the location, the amenities. It's warm, clean, perfect. Would recommend going to La Giostra one night for dinner, and for a place very close to the hotel, Stefano's Pizza is delicious, open until midnight, and has the same warm family feeling you get at the Davanzati.

We stayed at the Davanzati about 3 weeks ago as part of our honeymoon. What a wonderful experience! As already written by other guests, Fabrizio and his family were warm, friendly, and extremely helpful. The room, the breakfasts, the wine with other guests were all terrific. We will definately return and recommend it to others.

After a wonderful stay in Rome, at the Marcella Royal Hotel, we thought it would be difficult for the Hotel Davanzati to match or exceed our wonderful experience in Rome. We were not disappointed. They thoroughly exceeded our experience in Rome. As we exited the elevator and stepped into the lobby, we were met by Tomasso who warmly welcomed us... More

My husband and I, along with my son and his girlfriend stayed at the Hotel Davanzati for 3 nights in mid September, 2005. We had such a great experience there that I will recommend it to anyone visiting Florence. The owners, Fabrizio and his wife (along with their son, Tomasso) were very hospitable, friendly and helpful. They truely want to... More

The Hotel Davanzati. Wow. Where to begin? First - the location is perfect. I arrived via train from Venice and it was no more than a 10 minute walk (kind of like everything in Florence!) to get to the hotel. Fabrizio greeted me as if I was a regular (this was my first time in Florence) and continued to call... More

Staying at the Davanzati Hotel was one of the loveliest experiences of my trip to Italy (and I had a lot of wonderful experiences!!) Start with the owner - Fabrizio. He's one of the kindest, most helpful, most organized people I have ever met. Everything from ordering opera tickets for us, helping with directions, renting a car, and suggesting restaurants...
