I stayed here in September 2015. The staff is very willing to help with places to eat, things to see, maps, tickets to attractions, etc. The staff speaks English very well, the breakfast was quite good, and the room was very clean. Like many European hotels, the room was on the smaller side, but certainly suitable for my needs. The... More

Small but efficient hotel. Helped us get the museum tickets and restaurants. Wonderful. They had many suggestions including a wonderful journey of the Ufizzi Museum. And wonderful restaurant suggestions.

We traveled to Florence just before Christmas, spent two wonderful nights at Davanzati and felt so welcome, in addition to a great location, nice rooms and the very best service and staff imaginable we decided to return to the hotel at the end of our trip. All members of the family assisted us with the many questions we asked, helped... More

This was my first trip to Italy. It was a dream vacation for me and I planned a lot before the trip. I had originally booked another hotel that was highly rated on TripAdvisor and then realized it was a bit of a distance from the main area of Florence. I checked TripAdvisor again and booked the Hotel Davanzati instead.... More

Quaint, quiet and comfortable hotel in a excellent location. Immediately on check in we were greeted by Leonardo at the front desk who took time to explain everything to us and showed us to our room where we were given a complimentary upgrade. The room was very comfortable with everything you need and more. The complimentary breakfast was adequate but,... More

This hotel is walking distance from everything in the old part of the city: the Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi gallery, the Piti Palace... The only caveat is that a flight of stairs is required to reach the elevator. Don't worry; hit the buzzer and someone will come down and take your bags. Staff are very helpful with advice and... Loved the hotel and the staff - had a beautiful room and enjoyed the breakfast and happy hour. Our room was beautiful, clean, updated, comfortable. The staff helped us with our dining choices and then we booked a tour with them which was a day seeing the tower of Pisa, a bike ride around the wall of the town of... More

This hotel has a wonderful location for walking and easily accessing all of what Florence has to offer. It is a short ride from the train station. The rooms were nice but not the most luxurious but the location and friendly staff made up for that.

Stayed 4 nights in May 2015 and was very well taken care of. The hotel's patriarch sat in the lobby each day surveying all the goings on, while his children, grandchildren and other employees tended to the guests, which was so cute and reassuring somehow. The hotel was clean, the service was terrific and breakfast was provided. It's within walking... More

Recommend without hesitation. Enjoyed our stay here greatly. Family run, friendly and warm, central location, clean and efficient, great breakfast included. Be aware that there are 20+ steps up from street level to reach the elevator to the lobby.

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
