For me it was first time to see many hotels in a single building, but this is very normal in Italy. Nostalgic feeling when you enter the lift (Very Old but properly working) Very personalized service within Hotel, even with almost no staff (Common in Italy) they want to address all your requirements and succeed also. Very close to Florence... More

The hotel itself is really nice with comfortable beds and bathrooms. The only problem is that once you arrive there you realise that it's in a building with two other hotels and an elevator to all floors. But once inside the scene changes 360 and you can start to relax.

Stayed 4 nights with family in a room arranged for 5. Given the lack of family hotels in Italy in general, that was a good deal. The room was, I think, originally for 3, and they added 2 cots for the kids. It got a little cramped, but still we had a nice rest all together. The location is great... More

This is a comfortable characterful small hotel,2 minutes from the train station, and just on the edge of all the experiences and sights of florence,we wouldn't hesitate to stop here again when we come to florence. The management have to be congratulated on their choice/training of staff as every member of staff we met were charming and so helpful, putting us at... More

1. Great location--less 5-minute walk from Florence station, and many bus stops 2. Friendly staff--we had to catch an early train to Rome, and the staff went out of their way to prepare breakfast half an hour earlier than it is usually served. 3. Strong wifi 4. Cleanness 5. Very reasonable price

So from a horrible vintage-like BnB in Rome (I prefer not to mention the name) to a nice modern-like hotel in Salerno (Grand Salerno Hotel), Hotel Desiree in Florence was just the perfect combination of both. Not so fancy breakfast like in Salerno but very good enough, croissants of your choice and coffee, then you are good to go. And... More

Hotel signage is poor, I walked past without noticing. Must have exact address with you. The same building has another 2 hotels on different floors and the signages from the other 2 hotels are bigger. But it is really near to the train station. Didn't feel like a 3-star hotel when I saw how the other 3 star hotels looked.... More
