This hotel was great in every way. The breakfast was great and it was very clean. It was also well located and beautiful. It is close to some great restaurants and public transport, especially the bus station. The staff was also very courteous and helpful.

Well situated, just outside the centre, walking distance 10mins to centre. Unfortunately next to a very busy roundabout but we had a bedroom at the back so unsure if this is a problem, view wasn't great out of our window. Room was spacious and bathroom was large. Shower was impressive. Staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough. Breakfast was... More

I only stayed for a short time in Firenze and this hotel was the perfect oasis. Nice big rooms, quite and friendly staff made for a very nice experience. I would definitely recommend it. The distance to key attractions makes for a long walk and can be demanding if very hot, as it was in July.

We visit Italian cities a lot and have only visited Florence for the day. This time we decided to stay for two nights. We booked this hotel through BA and got a good deal. People say it's a bit of a walk from the centre but this was perfect for us. It's about 15-20 minutes walk to the Duomo but... More

Spent an anniversary week here after a five year gap from our previous visit. Hotel still spotless, rooms good size with nice bathrooms. Staff always friendly and obliging and cant do enough to make your stay enjoyable. Bar and breakfast bar excellent. Only slight downside is that the hotel is about 1.5 Kilometers from the main tourist attractions, and in... More

Enjoyed staying at this hotel. It's location is great for being out of the hectic city but close enough to walk to some great sites, including Il Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio and Accademia. Breakfast was ok and at times the Internet was frustratingly slow but very lovely rooms and helpful staff. Also, a nice little sitting area for breakfast or... More

Very nice, clean and comfortable hotel. Room was spacious and bed comfortable. Found room to be a bit noisy in the mornings with movement in room above us and busy traffic outside. Breakfast was served in small garden which was lovely. We found the breakfast to be plentiful in selection but not great in quality with breads and pastry shop... More

What a great hotel, felt like a bed and breakfast but with all the privacy of a hotel. Charming clean rooms, with full bath/shower, balcony doors (but no walk out) and plenty of garden seating opportunities for breakfast or afternoon/evening wine. Great location with only 10 min walk to see the famous David and to great shopping.

My fiancee and I stayed here at the beginning of June, and we don't have a bad word to say about the hotel or the staff. It is conveniently located (a 10-15 minute walk to the Duomo, if it's not too hot), and there are a few bus stops nearby. The room was clean, the air conditioning was welcome (not... More

Great hotel. Clean and comfortable. Located in 20 min walking distance from the city center. Personnel is very polite and professional, helped us with public transportation, answered many questions on getting around the city, booked a taxi and prepared breakfast boxes for early morning departure. Breakfast was good enough. Service at the cafeteria was really good. Room service was perfect.... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
