A very nice hotel in the city centre. All the main points of interest are in the vicinity, as well as the central train station in Florence S M Novella. The hotel facilities are sufficient for a nice stay. Even the accommodation with shared bathroom (if you choose that, is a good choice). The room was facing to the street... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights in June. The location of the hotel was spot-on as it is round the corner from the train station (we were inter-railing) and a couple of minutes walk to the Duomo. As for the room itself, it was quite basic but exactly what we expected for a 2* and the price... More

We traveled in a family including two teenage daughters in June of 2015. The hotel room itself was very spacious for us four. Aswell the restroom was a good size with a good amount of hot water and preasure. We had good Wifi signal which was very important for us to communicate back home. Air conditioner worked great in Italy's... More

The hotel was in a great spot! So centrally located and just a short walk from the Cathedral. Our room was on the top floor so we had a perfect view. They do have a small elevator, but mostly we just took the stairs. Our room was large and had a bathroom adjoined. The best thing about the hotel was... More

My wife and I (both in our mid- 60s), were travelling abroad from India to Italy on our own for the first time, so were a little apprehensive about the hotels, the security and the means of transportation from & to the Train Station/Airport. We did extensive research, depending heavily upon other travelers' reviews on Trip Advisor and Booking.com. We... More

I stayed here for 3 nights, and it was the perfect place for sightseeing. Only 2-3 blocks from the train station, and short walk to the Duomo and other attractions. I had to share a bathroom which I wasn't expecting, but it was across the hall and very clean, and at least I had a sink in my room. The... More

Hotel Lorena is a great value and in a central location. It is walking distance from the train station (about a 5 minute walk), steps away from the Duomo and near a ton of great shops and restaurants. My husband and I stayed in Florence for 3 days during our travels and never had to use public transportation to get... More

The location is excellent, as the hotel is situated very close to SMN train station and Mercato Centrale as well. My room with shared bathroom was ok, nothing special but no complaints either. A good place for one night stay as I did.

Hotel Lorena is a great value in the center of Florence. It is about 3 blocks from the Duomo, right next to the Medici Chapel. Also, it is less than a 5 minute walk to the train station. The street that it is on contains many restaurants to choose from. While the elevator is quite small (and not available between... More

Centrally located hotel within easy walking distance from the train station and is also to all major sites in Florence. Depending on which rate you choose will depend on whether you get breakfast or not. We prepaid with a discounted pay immediately rate and it didn’t include breakfast, which was fine. You can elect to pay on site as well,... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
