We originally found Hotel Il Bargellino while watching the world famous traveler Rick Steves on television. He was traveling Europe and stayed at this hotel. Rick gave Hotel Il Bargellino two thumbs up. This was our second time back to Florence (Nov 2013 & Nov 2014) and our second time back to Hotel Il Bargellino. What more can we say,... More

Five nights wasn't enough; we could have stayed longer. Great room with a high ceiling, a large common terrace, and an unbeatable location close to all the attractions, restaurants, cafes, and the train station. Don't hesitate to make this your base for not only exploring Florence, but for day trips to other locations in Tuscany. Tip: Arezzo is only 40... More

After staying here last year, I didn't hesitate to book again when I had the chance to return to Florence. Carmel and Pino give you such a warm welcome that it is more like staying with friends than like staying in a hotel. I knew that I would be safe and well taken care of while also being in a... More

Visiting Florence for a week on my own, this hotel was the perfect place to base myself. A family run hotel that's personal, friendly and welcoming. Carmel and Pino were lovely hosts that made my stay in Florence even more enjoyable. Located within easy walking distance to all the main sites, there are nice cafes and restaurants nearby, the Mercato... More

We spent three nights here at the end of September. I had booked everything well ahead of time so got a room that opened up on terrace (always look for outdoor space) and had a en-suite bathroom. Carmel handled our museum reservations, provided dining recommendations and pointed out a travel agent close by who took care of the balance of... More

Wonderful staff, wonderful location. The staff were very helpful answering my questions and making excellent suggestions. The room was beautifully decorated and very italian. Was our first time staying in a 'shared bathroom' and would do it again here. The two bathrooms are shared by 8 guests. In the 2 nights we were here we did not see another person... More

What a find! Arriving by train it was a breeze to get to on foot and for accessing Florence the location was ideal. Located in a quiet street with rooms opening onto a delightful and spacious terrace, this was the perfect place for some respite after sight seeing. We could have stayed on. Our wonderful hosts were discreet, very friendly... More

We are 3 couples who just finished a 2 week trip to Italy, staying in 4 different locations, and all of us choose this hotel as the best during our stay. We loved the charm of staying in an old home in Florence. The location was perfect, being a short walk to the train station. The rooms were all very... More

This cosy hotel is in the perfect location, short walk to many sights, including the SMN train station. It is off the main streets, so it was quiet. We had a very clean, large room, nicely decorated with antique furnishings and newer bathroom. It also was equipped with a small fridge and an espresso machine. Espresso pods & Italian pastries...
