I loved this place. After staying in a couple of 1 star hotels in Rome, this place was hands down the best. I loved the bird, the cat and the plants and flowers all over the patio. It was easy to go everywhere on foot. Carmel and Pino were helpful with information, on bus service to Seina, another wonderful small... more

A perfect base for our introduction to Florence. Great location, reasonably priced, the terrance (complete with the neighbour's cat) , and the genuine warmth and helpfulness of Carmel and Pino. We'll be back to Florence, and we wouldn't stay anywhere else. more

This cute hotel has spacious rooms and a wonderful location as they are walking distance from the center of Florence. It has a wonderful patio for guests to kick back or lounge around. Best of all, the room rates are very reasonable. Carmel & Pino are very accommodating hosts. They provided advance reservations to museums, great info of the area,... more

My wife and I stayed here for two nights and would highly recommend the place if you want a no-frills, clean room in a central location. We paid 70 Euros a night which is a steal for a hotel right in the city. Marcel, the owner of the hotel, is originally from Boston's North End and was very helpful in... more

Carmel and Pino run the most soulful and comfortable hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms are funky and cute, and the rooftop terrace makes me feel like a Florentine. Carmel has compliled a book for each room of very helpful information from laundry and post office, to cafe's that don't charge a cover to sit down. more

We stayed 5 nights at Il Bargellino w/ friends (six of us total). We booked all three of the rooms that open directly to the lovely patio (rooms 8,9, & 10), which was super nice, as we would share wine in the evenings and even played cards during a rainstorm (the main table is canopied). The rooms are lovely--good sized,... more

My wife and I stayed at Hotel 11 Bargellino, and enjoyed our stay tremendously. The room was spacious, well-kept, and secure. The bed was very comfortable. And Carmel and Pino, the hoteliers, were gracious, warm, friendly, and kind. This was my first visit to Italy, and they gave me a very positive image of Italians. In fact, when I think... more

Hotel il Bargellino is a nice little place owned by an American. (It's nice to have someone that speaks English!) It is very close to the train station (Piazza Adua to Via Faenza to Via Guelfa). The room was clean and large, and had a shower and sink in the room. It was one of the larger showers we saw... more

Hotel Il Bargellino was cozy with a touch of class. It's a small hotel and offered the opportunity to meet others who are staying there. The terrace made for wonderful conversation with other travelers, an inexpensive dinner spot and a place to relax. The rooms have character, the beds are large and the service is great. Carmel is from Boston... more
