We have stayed there several times and have referred others to the hotel. The hotel is in ideal location, walking distance to Duomo, train station, etc. We love staying there every time we come to Florence. Carmel and Pino are wonderful hosts!!

It s a keeper. Have been there several times and will keep coming back. Rooms are immaculate. It is centrally located and the price is more than reasonable for Florence. Most importantly, the owners, Carmel and Pino, are wonderful. On a personal note, the last time I was there, I was sick and was treated like family!! Could not be... More

My wife and I started our Italian adventure here in May and everything about this hotel from the moment we arrived was just perfect. Our hosts couldn't have been for friendly and helpful (especially when trying to locate our lost luggage). The location was ideal - short walk from the train station and all attractions, especially the market which was... More

This is a wonderful little inn a little bit off the beaten path but yet within walking distance to everything. It is also right around the corner from the train station. So, that is super convenient. Our room was lovely - spacious, clean, and very cute. The shared terrace is a wonderful place to spend an evening relaxing after long... More

My husband, daughter and I stayed at hotel il Bargellino for 4 nights in May. Excellent location, very clean and cozy. Carmel and Pino are very accommodating and welcoming. The terrace is so beautiful to relax at the end of a busy day. A gem in Florence! Highly recommend.

Stayed at Il Bargellino for three nights in Florence. Perfect location far away enough from the traffic and tourists but within walking distance to all attractions. The owner was very friendly, he will give you recommendations if you ask or he will let you be and go about your stay as you wish. There is a terrace where you can... More

We chose the Hotel Il Bargellino based on Trip Advisor's and Rick Steves' recommendations and we were not disappointed. We were fortunate to have a room that opened onto the beautiful, large terrace. In the mornings the birds were singing and the air was sweet. This terrace was a true delight for us. We were in room #8 and the... More

We loved staying here. It is in the heart of Florence, and we never once took a cab the whole week, just walked. Il Bargellino has an old-fashioned feel, with up-to-date amenities. The room was perfect, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and everything was within walking distance. There is a lovely common terrace, where we enjoyed the breakfast... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections.
