Lovely hotel, room was clean and a good size bed sheets changed every day. Very good breakfast, helpful reception staff, 10min walk to the centre of Florence and 4 min walk from the train station. Plenty of restaurants nearby.

Had a week here at the end of July and really enjoyed staying in the Adler. Clean, very helpful staff, excellent breakfasts, air con, wifi. Lots of good restaurants and bars nearby, and the station just around the corner which made catching the bus back to the airport easy.

This is a wonderful place to return to after a long day of sight seeing in beautiful Florence. Keeping in mind that Florence is a walking city, put on your walking shoes exit the door turn left and in a few minutes you are at the river. Turn left again and you are in the hears of historic Florence. The... More

Walking down the street to this hotel we didn't have very high expectations. The street was very busy and looked run down. Once through the doors though it was totally different. The reception was lovely with wood panelling and the staff we met were efficient and helpful. The room was beautiful, taking the theme of decorated ceiling you'll see in... More

Beautiful and spacy room. Two elevators. Close to bus and train stations. Nice staff. Quality bathroom with bidet. Beautiful ceiling decoration. Good breakfast, free wifi. Felt like home. Could not ask for more.

This hotel could have been a wonderful place to stay. The location was great and easy to get anywhere from. The rooms were nicely decorated in antique furnishings and a nice size. My major complaints were the temperature of the rooms and the service we received was horrifying. Do not stay here if the weather is very hot. Unfortunately, while... More

I am very sorry about your stay in our hotel, because a unsatisfied guest is our personal failure, but I would like to point out that the temperature in Florence downtown during your stay was 40°/41°, the media told that last month was the hottest july from 1950 and in your room was 25°, a very big difference of 15°/16°... This was a lovely hotel in a great location. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was varied and pleasant as there was an outdoor area. There was even a nice little bar up on the first floor . I enjoyed my stay here.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2015

Stayed here for 3 nights in July 2015 and I would highly recommend this hotel. Its location is excellent, 5 minutes away from thr train station and the Santa Maria Novella church. Also, it's just a 15-20 minutes walk to the Dome and Ponte Vecchio. The room was big and spacious, with a perfectly functional AC. We had some issues... More

Close to train station, large clean and well kept room, excellent breakfast, very helpful and courteous staff, the area loud and dirty because of central location not a place to stay for a quiet Florence holiday .

The hotel is located in centre, next to the train station, 7 min walking till Duomo. The room was big and clean, the bed is comfy, the bathroom is very good. There is a hairdryer, shower facilities, fridge and TV for those who need. The wifi signal was not working in our room so they came to instal individual wifi... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
