Lovely hotel located near the train station. (5 mins walk) Great location as it is only 10-15 mins walk to Duomo. Spacious rooms with a log cabin feel to it! Comes with bath tubs and radiator towel racks where you can dry your clothes! Reminded me of old hotels in the movies but in a very good way! If you... More

The Adler has been my "home" in Tuscany for over a decade. It's location, comfy rooms and, most importantly, their amazing staff - led by Franco and Andrea - are the best in Florence. Thanks you to the other members of the staff - Roberto, the two Lisa's and of course the king of the night shift, Raffealo - for... More

Stayed from 26 to 29 Dec 2015. The hotel interiors and the rooms are very classic Italian decor. The staffs are very friendly especially those who who did the breakfast service. Fast, friendly and efficient. Breakfast spread was adequate enough to keep you going. The shuttle bus service to the outlets is merely a 2mins walk. Nearby is also near... More

Lovely large room, very clean. The reception were very helpful and breakfast was good. Nice bar downstairs. The location was perfect and safe to walk about with plenty of restaurants nearby. Easy walk to main square and the Duomo

A nice and comfortable stay at this Hotel. Very clean room and comfortable matresses. At first we were in Large room with balcony but temperature was too cold for me and straight away the receptionist found us an other room, smaller but warmer. Very helpful staff. Breakfast room was cosy, the waiter was very polite and the breakfast choice was... More

Hotel Nice hotel, original to its year. Kept nice and clean. Reception Ok, not to smiley! Room Small but sufficient, nice little balcony. Unfortunately not very soundproofed, can hear doors shutting and if the people upstairs put the shower on or flushed the toilet it sounded like a torrential rainstorm! Breakfast Room is really small, the first morning it was... More

The location is very near with the main train station and the city center, about 3 minutes walking to the station and about 10 minutes to the city center. It's a little bit crowded around the hotel especially on rush hour, but if you come with car, they have a private garage just beside the hotel. The room is also... More

The hotel is located a street behind the Main Train Station, just a 3 minites walk. This hotel is a relatively old-styled with old furniture and old designs, but it doesn't mean that it is dirty. The room is clean and the toilet is clean. Staffs are friendly. Breakfast with enough choices and good coffee. Wifi is not strong but... More

Averageness seems to be the best description of this hotel. The main entrance is narrow and wasn't striking from the exterior. If you unpack your bags from the car, you'll disturb people walking on the pavement. The same if you wait for a taxi. Just behind the automatic door, there are few stairs, quite difficult to force by disabled people.... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
