Bellevue House is a quick, easy walk from the train station and is not hard to find. It is within walking distance of most of Florence's neighborhoods. Alex, son of the owners, was fantastic! He gave us a map and outlined all of the best walking routes to get to certain places. We were in town right after Christmas when... More

My husband and I spent four nights in this hotel. We booked this hotel due to its convenient location and the comments in tripadvisor. Bellevue House did not disappoint us! The double bed room actually has another small room with an extra bed~. This is the largest double room we have had stayed in Italy. We were so happy to... More

To begin with, dont let the stairs leading to the premises bother you one bit. Alessandro is super fit to carry any baggage up the stairs without battling an eyelid. Then comes the check in which is hassle free and the rooms are well furnished and more than comfortable. The wi-fi worked brilliantly in our room (Sofia). Alessandro is a... More

Our room was very large for a hotel room with a fireplace, double bed and a sleeper sofa. The operator/owners who are always on site gave us maps, directions, suggestions for the best restaurants to eat at, information on places we might want to visit and made sure we had everything we needed. The hotel is minutes from the train... More

The room is spacious and clean. The owner is very nice, he gave us a warm welcome and provided information on places to visit and good eating restaurants. He also lent us a travel book with very good travel guides. The house is on third floor without a lift but the owner and his son are very kind to help... More

I just finish 2 week vacation in Italy and stayed 3 nights at Bellevue House. This is the best lodge during these 2 weeks. It's 5 minutes walk from train station, so perfect location for traveller. Originally I worry about noise since it's close to train station (that means a lot of traffic and people), but the room is very... More

From arrival, Alessandro went out of his way to show us kindness and hospitality. We were given great information about the city. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Would definitely recommend staying here if you're in Florence.

We stayed at the Bellevue House in early October for our trip to Tuscany region and was delighted to find that it was located within walking distance of the train and most of the attractions throughout the City. But, we especially appreciated the warm welcome in making us feel at home from Alex and his arranging of a taxi to... More

The location is perfect, walking distance to all major attractions, but a little removed from the busier tourist area. When we arrived, the owner's son gave us tips and restaurant recommendations, all were great and very helpful. The room was large, clean, and charming, we would definitely stay here again next time we visit Florence!

The staff were very friendly and helpful an overall great stay .. Would stay again. Bit of a long walk up the stairs with luggage but that's the only negative other then that very good pleasant stay and feels like home.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
