Very nice hotel in the center with a warm atmosphere. The decoration and the sheets are very elegant. We were with a group of freinds and we felt like home. The rooms were clean and comfortable.Whenever we had a break going around we came to our hotel to have our coffee which was complimentary and delicious. Thanks to freindly staff.

JK Place in Florence is a small boutique hotel strategically located near most of the cultural landmarks in this rarest of cities. I was traveling with my daughter, an art historian who is a delight to travel with for her voracious and discerning eye and nonstop commentary on the ironies, absurdities and wonders around her. We both appreciated the responsiveness... More

This place gets so close to wonderful but just falls short. The similarly appointed room here was less spacious and more crowded than the one I adored at JK Roma. The front desk (actually in the back) is staffed by lovely people and I borrowed guide books from the hotel library - very convenient and helpful. Breakfast was nice but... More

My son stayed there and this is what he said: The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the bed very comfortable. Hotel staff booked a ticket for the Uffizi for me, and recommended good local restaurants to eat out. Food from room service was good. I felt very well looked after.

This is by far the best boutique hotel in Florence: the friendly staff knows your name within minutes and will provide outstanding personalized attention. Angela, Lorenzo, Marina, Mateo (at the restaurant) thanks so much for making my stay impeccable. They got me advanced tickets for the Uffizi and Pitti galleries, secured tables at some of the best restaurants in the... More

I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. It's our favorite place in all of Italy. The staff goes above and beyond. We left eyedrops and they had them shipped to our next hotel and called the hotel to ensure of their safe arrival. After we had already left they called to say that while reviewing our bill there was... More

The JK Place is conveniently located and a hidden gem in Florence. Whilst the hotel itself is a mini work of art, what makes the JK Place special is the staff. My family stayed at the JK Place after visiting Rome and staying at the St. regis. Unfortunately I forgot my prescription eye drops at the St. Regis and didn't... More

This hotel is on the level of a Ritz Carlton in America. Although the space was small, the room was very comfortable. It was also a pleasure to see a lift (elevator). The decor is exquisite and the service professional. Breakfast consisted of salmon, capers, fresh fruit and juice. Additionally, there was a snack offered early evening. The hotel was... More

A peaceful, oasis in the heart of Florence. The hotel is small but guests want for nothing. Rooms are beautifully appointed, staff are friendly and accommodating, and the food is very good. The hustle and bustle of Florence is On the door step but seems a million miles away. The hotel had more the feel of a home than a... More

Loved this hotel...stayed for one night after driving into Florence from Tuscany ( make sure you know the route if driving as bit stressful). Our car was whisked away and we were presented with 2 glasses of prosecco to chill. We had a lovely room with amazing shower and a fabulous bed. Location was great and we did an eco... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
