Hotel is about a 5/10 min walk from the station, just look for a few flags on the side of a building and a plaque with the name on and press the bell, go through the gate, turn right and up the stairs or lift to the second floor. We had no problems finding it. Room was nice, not amazing... More

We chose this Hotel as it was walking distance from the Firenze SMN train station, it is a little challenging to find - just keep an eye out for the Hotel sign on the third floor and half a dozen international flags. Walk down the driveway and in to the lobby with Hotel Reception on the second floor. Room was... More

Very nice hotel with big rooms, nice private bathroom, greeting staff, location is good near Santa Maria Novella station. Not very difficult to locate as it is very near to station in the main road only. Couple of Indian restaurants at walking distance. Not very expensive hotel. In short is it was much better than our expectation and I can... More

We spent one night at the hotel as we were arriving late & could not check into our self catering apartment that late. On arrival we did have trouble locating the entrance, we ended walking around the block twice looking for it.....in the end we spotted a small brass plate with the hotel name on it (wish I'd read the... Thank you to have choice our Hotel. We are situated at second floor in a big building close Santa Maria Novella Station. There are some flags at balcony but are old. Now we put other bigger and more visible flags and the light near brass plate. We are very happy you enjoied our Hotel, I hope to see you again. More

I booked this hotel because of its proximity to Santa Maria Novella train station and the great price tag. When we got there we couldn't find the entrance! Eventually we saw this little brass plaque on the wall of an alley proclaiming that it was on the 2nd floor of a small high rise. Actually if I'm not mistaken the... More

Comfortable budget hotel with fridge, breakfast and wifi, opposite Santa Maria Novella; our room very quiet. Helpful, friendly staff, (Maria and co). Easy walk to centre of Florence and Ponte Vecchio.

Took a while to find the hotel as hidden off the main road. Nice and clean, the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Area seems seedy but its kept busy with tourists so does not feel threatening. Its a perfect location to see Florence on foot and close enough to everything just on the fringe of the city. Would recommend... More

Loved it! This hotel was fabulous! The staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was immaculate, newly refurbished with lovely amenities! Small fridge, TV, desk, free WiFi, lovely shower with great water pressure. Yummy linens, extra pillows, AC the list goes on. They have a better than average breakfast as well included in the price! It was a block from... More

We were looking for a budget hotel close to the train station Santa Maria Novella and close to the city, getting good service and a great location was a concern but luckily we read some good reviews about this and we made a reservation for a Saturday night stay on our way to Venice. First of all, it's less than... More

The room was fine, and spacious. Wifi a little unreliable. Staff really excellent. I did not eat in the hotel, but I understand the breakfast is great. One small issue was that the hotel itself was hard to find, and not well marked on the Via Luigi Alamanni. The hotel is close to the station, which is both a good... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
