Wonderful experience! Literally 30 seconds from the main station and within 5 minute walk from all the main things to see in Florence (Duomo, Uffizi, Palazzo Vecchio, Ponte Vecchio, etc.), with a beautiful view on Santa Maria Novella's square. Strongly recommended. I doubt it gets any better then this!

We enjoyed our stay at the Domus. It was very close to the train station and directly in view of the Santa Maria Novella Cathedral. Short walk into the center of historic district. The staff was friendly and warm and made us feel like welcomed friends.

What an amazing location! We were greeted by an extremely helpful and friendly gentleman at the front desk who escorted myself and my cousin to our room, where he opened our window to the most breath taking view. The rooms were nice and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. I greatly enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel... More

When booking in Florence we were looking for a location a short walking distance to train station and close to Florence attractions. We picked this hotel for price and location. It has many amenities however, room needs attention. Windows opened out onto corridor between train station and Piazza Novello. Noisy pedestrian walkway and a lot of chatter from cafes below... Overestimated hotel, small rooms and outdated furniture, dirty bathrooms, Poor breakfast and low quality, very noisy room. Very negative experience. The only positive, the location. l would not recommend this Hotel

This is a sweet hotel. It is ideally situated literally five minutes from the railway station in Florence, overlooking a lovely square in front of an old church. From the minute we arrived the staff were just so helpful and pleasant. The hotel is all on the first floor of a six story building which originally was a palace -... More

Comfort, elegance, service, convenience. What more can you ask for in a hotel right in the heart of Florence, Italy? I must say I was impressed by the gorgeous appointments in the room and dining areas, Enzo and his staff, and the accessibility to the restaurants and sights surrounding the location. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants... More

We booked this hotel through tourist info. It is very close to the railway station which is extremely handy and overlooks a large interesting piazza. We were hot and sweaty as it was about 38 degrees and also somewhat flustered. The gentleman at reception was most kind and helpful. I use the term gentleman in its true sense. He was... More

The location of this hotel is it's best selling point. It is very close to the train station and most other attractions are easy to get to from there. I couldn't honestly call this a 4 star hotel - I think a decent 3 star is closer. The staff were pleasant and our room was clean but the shower was... More

I'm so sorry I don't appreciate the room. The historical one of our Palace. This is a very little hotel. Many people like. Thank you. More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
