My wife and I stayed here in early May and found it to be satisfactory, without being anything special. It is an average 3 star hotel and gives good value for money. Our main issue was that on two afternoons about three o,clock we came back for arest and the room had not been touched. No coff/tea making possibilities. A... More

Good room, but a bit small, fine Wi-Fi. No coffee/tea maker in room.No helping hands at all, but reception desk very helpful. Free buffet breakfast very average. Taxi very expensive. Fine for two days stay for old couple.

The woman at the front desk (the owner's daughter?) was unfriendly and unhelpful. The hotel is very tired, and grubby, badly in need of painting and cleaning of furniture, bedspread and curtains. The bed had a big divit on the edge where people sit down. WiFi was not working and the only thing that the woman at reception had to... More

We arrived to an indifferent greeting and mumbled instructions. A few of staff on reception too busy on their mobiles to talk. Positives: clean accommodation, lovely huge bed and clean sheets and bathroom. Bathroom quite modem. Negatives: paint work everywhere marked and dirty. No air con, we went for three nights in glorious April weather. Bitten by very noisy Mosquitos.... More

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights beginning of March. I got a great price booking it worked out to be about £18 per person per night so I really wasn't expecting much. In fact I dreaded arriving however was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was lovely, small and quirky. Reception staff were friendly and all staff were bilingual. The bed... More

Our room was clean and quite. Beds were comfortable We had a great view. The stocked fridge was reasonably priced. We were greeted every morning going in for breakfast and were asked how we would like our coffee. They were more than happy to make cappuccino for us. Good variety of food and beverage to choose from. We found it... More

I stayed at La Fortezza on March 18th-21st. It was a fairly average stay. The bed and linens were clean and towels were stocked daily. The flooring in our room was hardwood floors but they had begun to separate, which didn't look good with the already paint chipped walls. Our room had a nice view to our surprise considering it... Stayed here for 3 nights recently on our trip to Florence. It's a decent hotel with clean rooms, fridge, safe, free Wi-Fi (although you have to keep logging in) etc. One thing though don't open windows if you can help it as the Mozzies will eat you alive (even in mod Feb!). Breakfast was good and the lady serving was... More

Spent a week in this rather tired hotel. Found the staff on reception helpful when we needed advice. Loved the breakfast waitress, a beaming smile always helps the day. Found it a good place to get around the city from lots of walking. Some excellent restaurants on nearby streets. The room was dark needed more lights, comfortable when the centrally... More

The La Fortezza was a lovely hotel which was close to most of the main attractions in Florence. We had reached early and it was nice to have the room ready for us. We faced a bit of a problem with the bathroom flush but the reception person was very prompt in rectifying the problem. The laptop provided by the... More
