In june end we stayed here with kids; its a terrible hotel; there is a small lift which takes you one floor up than its a maze after that; i dont understand how someone approved their fire clearance. its location is good but rest of all is terrible; breakfast is very basic with cold boiled eggs !! to be avoided...... We were in Florence on business so having no wifi in our room spoilt things for us. There was a communal wifi hotspot but it did not work for the six days that we were there. Otherwise the hotel was average as was the room; well situated close to Florence main station, shops, restaurants, galleries and museums..it was ok but... More

The location of the hotel is great, between the main central train station (only 3 min walking) and Florence famous Duomo. You certainly don't need a taxi. Everything is in a walking distance. The hotel itself is quite nice, boutique style, well looked after. But, even though the rooms might appeared nice and quiet, that's not the case! The vents... More

Firstly don't be fooled by the lovely photos that you see online. The room that we got was absolutely hopeless. The bathroom was absolutely tiny. I am a small lady and even I thought the bathroom was small. On my arrival at 1pm to the hotel after travelling more than 28 hours to get to Florence, I was told I... More

We booked this hotel for 4 nights at the beginning of June. We were allocated room 57. The first thing we noticed on entering the room was how dark it was - this was due to defective bulbs in the light fitting. This light had to be switched on every time someone entered the room so it was obvious to... More

I was a walk in customer after staying in another cheap hotel nearby. The staff gave me a price that was better than the other ( without knowing what I'd paid else where). I paid 120 euro but in peak times online yo might get 100 euro p/n. They let me see the room when I asked. Location is very... More

I stayed in hotel Martelli with my brother for 5 nights. We had a spacious, clean room on the first floor with a small but clean bathroom. The tv was old but we did not intend to use it anyway. Breakfast was great, a selection of juices, pastries, bread, croissants, ham and cheese, nutella and jam, butter and yoghurt with... More

There are only two good things about this hotel: location and breakfast. The building is very nice but old and in need of updating. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We were in room 67, which seemed like the farthest room from the entrance. To get there, one must go up one level (by a tiny elevator or stairs), walk from... More

We stayed last week with my wife at this hotel. I chose it because of the location and also because of our limited budget. We are a backpacker and usually stay only for sleeping at the hotels. Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
