It is a beautiful hotel in the main square of the city. Our room was really big and beautiful. The bathroom was "minimal" but good if you only need a place to sleep. No breakfast included, but it is ok since it is a really cheap hotel in a great place of Florence downtown. I would come back there!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights. The location is AMAZING and perfect for a short trip. Check in was easy- the hotel took a little to find but it's right near the duomo. The room was very clean. The double bed was really just two mattresses pushed together and it was a little annoying that they fell... More

I really liked Hotel San Giovanni. Umberto was a great host, he was friendly and welcoming, and we couldn't ask for any more. The location is right in central Florence, and although some guests have reported it to be noisy, where we were in Room 9 at the back of the hotel, it was not noisy at all, and with... More

We have just ended our stay with san giovanni and it was great! The location can't be beat and the price is very reasonable. We had no problems with check in...we told the owner when we were arriving and he was there but also gave us the automatic codes so we could let ourselves in if there were any travel... More

Two of us booked this hotel because the location could NOT be beat. The price was very good value for the prime location next to Duomo. You walk right outside the front door of the building and are on the piazza. There were two main problems: (1) Bedbugs; (2) Check-In. (1): BEDBUGS: We stayed at this hotel for two nights... More

Dear Guest On September 11th we sow your comments on Booking.com regarding the bed bugs. Even if the review was anonymous, we were able to understand the time of your stay and the room you had with us. It is only on the 14th Sept. that another guest pointed out your review on Tripadvisor and we were very concerned and... More

This hotel is such a charming place. The views from the room we stayed in were unbeatable - we had the Duomo within our sight. The room for 3 was huge and I think it's possible to put in 4 people comfortably and still have space for stretching. While there was no breakfast served, the very fact that the hotel... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in a large comfortable room. The view from the window was amazing but we did find it noisy at night. This was solved by shutting the windows but it was very hot and and the fan wasn't quite adequate for the large room. The location was great and a handy walk to the train station... More

Can't beat the location; view of the Duomo square from our window! Very roomy and comfortable room. Shared bath wasn't a problem (always one available). Wifi only in common area. A bit loud due to street traffic, but completely blocked if the windows are closed. Overall, great value!

The hotel was as we expected, and had everything we needed. The beds are firm but comfortable and we had a view of the Duomo square out of our window. Couldn't beat the location. The host at this hotel is very helpful, and recommended great restaurants that we tried on the two nights we had in Florence. The room did... More

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights this June. The very best thing about this hotel is its location. You're literally in the center of Florence and thus can walk anywhere. The owner Umberto (my apologies in advance if I spell his name wrong) is very friendly. The room is comfortable enough for 2 persons and clean. If I... More
