This place was very convenient to the train station. The room was clean. The atmosphere was nice, they have a nice garden area in the back and a very large patio/terrace with seating as well. I will agree with a previous poster that it was a bit noisy - quiet hours began at 11:30 I think, but they were not... More

Pros: -multilingual staff -free walking tour -cheep beer and wine -hot and cold drinking water dispensers -breakfast included -24 hour front desk (hit or miss in Florence) -excellent location (2 blocks from Firenze SM novella train station) Cons: -noisy! The sound travels and whether or not you're kept up all night is at the mercy of other hostel guests. I... More

I stayed in this place for 3 days. I had a great time because it is a very popular hostel. The common places designed very well. People meet each other in their restaurant, lobby and courtyard so that it's a very social place.

Our family stayed here based on feedback of other travelers and location. This was our second stop on a multi-city tour through Europe. Our room was a private suite with bunk beds for the four in our family and a private bathroom and shower. We were there for two nights and found the hostel to meet our needs for a... More

The location, scenery, cobblestone streets and atmosphere combine for a great budget place to stay. Everything is within 5, 15, 20 to 30 minutes walk. Free breakfast is ok to get you going in the morning. I loved having lunch in the outdoor courtyard on the second floor.

I really enjoyed my stay at Archi Rossi. The decorations in the lobby is really cool with the wall art and statues. The dorm room is spacious and clean with easy-to-access electric outlets, the breakfast buffet has good options, most travellers are young backpackers. The hostel itself is a 5-8 min walk from the station and very close to Ponte... More

If you wish for a cheap place to stay near the Train station it is well located. However it is expensive for a hostel. Otherwise it might be nice to be a bit closer to town and stay in someplace better. We had apartments in Rome and Venice and since we wouldn't be in the room much here in Florence... More

I stayed at this hostel in a 5-person female dorm room for 6 nights in September. Inside there's a mixture of bunk bed (1) and 3 twin size beds. Each bed has a number that matches the number on the lockable (you are issued a key) cabinet. There's a 3/4 bath in the room, too. This hostel is very close... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
