I stayed here last May during my first trip to Italy. I was completely overwhelmed by the amount of hotels to choose from. Being a solo traveller and not knowing how far each neighborhood was to each other, I wanted to ensure safety by being centrally located. SPD seemed like a great choice in one of the best merchant's center... More

Stayed at the apartment on the other side of the street. Had to use key code box to get in and out. Basic cleanliness, not impressed finding someone else's hair on the bathroom floor first day there. Rest of the apartment not that clean either. Awful breakfast selection (included in price), instant coffee, dried out bread slices, small and limited... More

This B&B was home sweet home for 4 days during our honeymoon during April 2014. This B&B is in the middle of Florence and walking distance to all the tourist spots. Close to the train station (About a 10 – 15 min. walk). Thank goodness our cab driver took us from the train station to the B&B took us to... More

We stayed three night there. It's just between the central railway station and the leather market square. The place is nice and simple, Daniela and the girls are great. The rooms are nice even if we had the smallest one available. You have Tv and Wifi. About breakfast, don't waste your time with that. 50 meters from the house there... More

Soggiorno Pezzati is a very nice small BB. I stayed for a week & enjoyed my stay. The soggiorn is situated in the centre of Florence and it is a walking distance from all the monuments and the railway station. The room was clean and warm enough although the weather was really cold. Also the bathroom was clean and there... More

I have actually found the Soggiorno Pezzati via personal contacts many years ago, because it is difficult t o find a place so nice and quiet in the middle of Florence, so close to the market as well as the University. I am a regular guest, because each year I teach intensive modules at the university. I once left some... More

My wife and I travelled across Italy for about 2 weeks and stayed in many similar priced and rated hotels. We were very happy with the rest - this one however do not come close to the rest. The only upside is that the rooms and bathroom are clean and it's within walking distance from the city centre and train... More

There are some differing reviews on trip advisor so was difficult to know what to expect with suggestions that it is either the best or worst place people have ever stayed. I would say that if you want a clean, functional, well located base at budget price that is more like renting a well maintained student room this is for... More

Our stay at this B&B shattered our faith in relying on reviews. Despite good reviews, this place turned out to be an utter disappointment. We even contemplated forgetting about the money we had paid and moving someplace else. The B&B is situated on a dirty by-lane in a not-so-good part of the town on the 2nd floor a fairly decrepit... Also this review can be a help to improve the way we communicate the features of our b & b. What is perceived is not always in line with what is described and shown with pictures, from us and from other reviews. We thought that the characteristics of the building and the neighborhood in which it is the B&b were... More

This B&B was very basic, but very clean and comfortable. The room was a little tight, but it had an en suite bathroom and the apartment was very recently updated with everything working. The service was good with the possibility for daily contact, speaking English. The location is easy walking distance to the train station and all of the normal... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
