This hotel was in a brilliant location to visit all the sites, being about 5 minutes from the Duomo. The room was large and spacious and we had a private bathroom on the outside of the room. The hotel staff were very helpful giving us hints on places to eat and directions to places. We didn't initially opt in for... More

It looks like something from a horror movie from the outside but the rooms are really nice. Comfortable bed and a good bathroom and it is very spacious. It can get quite loud though, but I imagine most hotels in Florence centre would be as it has a lot of tourists and quite a busy nightlife. The cleaners really went... More

Good location for all the sights, station and bus routes. Lots of good restaurants nearby. A bit noisy, but this is a city centre! Room was OK but aircon totally did not work. Lifts very small but at least there were lifts. Breakfast was not bad, but disappointing for the price we paid.

We stayed here for 4 nights in May. Pluses: 1) Great location in the old town, very near the Duomo 2) Free buffet breakfast (but just cereals and breads, plus yogurt) 3) Free wifi 4) Modern plumbing fixtures 5) Secure (gated and locked entrance) Minuses: 1) Wifi is weak and awful. On the 2nd floor, we barely got a signal... More

I stay 3 nights in this hotel. All the night long the heaters were switched off. The room was so cold and it was no hot water in the bathroom after 23.00 o'clock. I asked to adjust this problem but it still was until the third night. I will not go again in this hotel :(

Highly recommended, the guys were so lovely and helpful, so close to all churches (Il Duomo, Santa Maria De Croce), pallazos, The Academia where gorgeous Davide resides, amazing Uffizi. Felt like I am home. Very clean, breakfast was fantastic, great cafe latte fredo :) Grazie mille ragazzi :) Will stay in this hotel again.

We recently spent 1 night at the Hotel Centro in Florence. The manger was very accomodating, pleasant & helpful as was the evening guy who mand the reception. We were given a very large room on the 2nd floor with private en suite facilities both of which were very clean. The room itself was perhaps a little tired looking &... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
