Okay to start the location was very good and near everything and the staff were friendly. However, the rooms were not like the pictures, it was old. In addition, the room was cold and It was next the reception's table!!!! lol

We arrived with our internet reservation but we accidentally had booked a hotel by the same name in a different city. The owner was extremely gracious and helped us find other accommodations since she was booked up for the night. The following night she was able to get us a family suite in the Hotel Centro that would accommodate our... More

The location is great, it is 5 minutes by walk from the city center and 15 minutes from the train station. The rooms are clean and enough for a couple of days. The staff is nice and welcoming. It is possible to have two types of breakfast, classical italian or international for a good price.

This hotel is centrally located making it easy to walk to the many interesting areas and attractions in Firenze. Finding the entrance was quite difficult on the first night as while there is a huge sign on the side of the building, the main door has a small buzzer which you have to locate to enter (made harder for us... Booked a Superior Double Room. Compared with the photo, the actual room was much smaller and there was no fridge. Location next to the old city is excellent and the staff were friendly. Overall I think prospective travellers should be aware that although the price is attractive they may be paying for less amenities than advertised.

As in the title, simple and friendly people to serve you. Is affordable and excellent location in the very centre of Firenze. Many options to eat and the Central market is very close. It is really worth using them. God bless you.

we choose this hotel strictly because of it's location. 3rd time staying in Florence and this time we decided to stay very close to Duomo as we figure that's where we'll be most of the time. The location was a good 8-10 minute walk from the train station (with luggages was a little difficult for my friends, but manageable). the... More

I barely slept at this hotel all night. It was SOOO LOUD outside our window: people talking, cars revving their engines and playing loud music. The room was small and it was only $50, but I would not stay here again. The shared bathroom also didn't even have a real shower. There was drain in the floor and a curtain... More

The location is brilliant, just turn right out of the hotel, stay on the street and you are right at the Duomo within 5mins. Easy walking distance to the rest of Florence's main attractions as well and just under 10mins walk to the train station. You will be spoilt for choice with the amount of restaurants in central Florence. My... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
