My wife and I spent a few nights at the Beatrice last week during a vacation in Florence. The owner and family were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is not modern, but then neither is Florence! We had a nice, very clean, room, with a lot of space and a large bathroom.... More

The manager was exceptionally helpful and friendly making our stay most enjoyable. The room was exceptionally clean and the location great as it was very close to the train station, as well as the main city area. Will stay here again if we visit Florence for a second time.

The "Hotel" is at most a half or one star at the most. Dodgy , scruffy and stale smelling rooms with staff / owners son being highly rude and disrespectful. We initially booked for 4 nights but immediately decided to go elsewhere....We politely paid for a night and checked out after staying in the room for 20mins trying to book... More

My wife stayed here at the beginning of August, we were originally booked into the neighbouring hotel angelica however it seemed they had overbooked so we ended up in the hotel Beatrice. This hotel is a great location for Florence, two minute walk from the main Florence train station and a ten minute walk from Florence centre. The rooms are... More

Excellent value for money right near the train station and walking distance to all the main sights in Florence. Would stay here again. Service was very personable and helped us out with everywhere we needed to go! Room was actually quite big for 2 people and the bathroom was modern and clean!

Had to spend one night in this hotel because the room we had booked in the adjoining Hotel Angelica was still being occupied by a previous guest who had been taken ill. Hotel Beatrice was very austere, dark and dingy. The breakfast was poor with hardly any choice. The staff were scruffy and not very helpful. The Angelica, which has... More

They tried very hard to accommodate the customers. At first wasn't sure where I was going, up a lift ... And the front desk on 3 floor..wasn't sure where I was... But when got to room, the room was a big room, nice view, great air conditioning . We need a car at 6 am and it was there !... More

The location is excellent, very centrally placed next to the Santa Maria Novella train station. Didn't need to spend any money on travel around the City and there was so much to see. The double room was nicely set out, the mattress was squeaky but comfy. Make sure you get to breakfast early or else you do miss out on... More

I guess the only good thing I have to say is 'great location' just walking distance from The station santa maria novella, quiet area and 10mins walk to piazza della signoria, no need of taxi, or public transport. very good breakfast. The room I was thrown in, seemed some kind of a 'box room' and i was too tired to... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
