Close to the central station and perfect for all the main sites. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was a good size, but lacked any natural light. The housekeeping staff started their day noisily in corridors at 0630, which was a far from ideal wake-up call. And the breakfast was not great. But the location of... More

We just got back from a wonderful stay at the Strozzi Palace. It is easy walking distance from the train station (we both had full sized, wheeled luggage), and is central to everything. The staff was wonderfully accommodating and friendly. The only downside is the very limited breakfast. Not what we have come to expect in Europe. I would highly... More

Stopped here for a long weekend back in Aug 2014.... Would highly recommend it to those who are just stopping for a few days. Ideally located and placed right in the heart of Florence. Rooms on the 1st floor have high ceilings and large comfortable beds, they're pretty basic but very clean. Breakfast consists of fruits, yoghurt, cereals and pastries.

The good: The hotel is centrally located, and a great starting point to visit all major sites, and not far from the train station. The rooms are very large, and breakfast was nice. Hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. The not-so-good: The entrance has a weird odor, and you cannot avoid using stairs to reach the entrance and some... More

Pros - Large bed (king size) Nice large bathroom Good aircon Our room had extremely high ceilings Friendly reception front of house lady Cons - Steps up to reception - lift half a floor up (did not worry us) but you have to lug your luggage to this level before you can use lift Breakfast very average, no atmosphere, music... This hotel is in a great location for the Dumo and the Ponte Vechica, and just minutes away as is the train station. This hotel doesnot have a lift from the street level to the reception on the first floor, and has a two person lift from reception to the 3rd floor. Unfortunately we were on the 4th so had... More

Great hotel with a very European feel! The best location to explore Florence and all the awesome sights and museums. Breakfast was very nice and staff was great. The beds were very comfortable. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time at the Strozzi Palace Hotel. The location could not be better; it provided easy walking to all of the sights in Florence. Also, the hotel's efficient concierge service made booking Tuscany day trips & museum appointments simple. The included breakfasts were also very good. Our non-smoking room was quite large by European standards & very... More

Summary: clean, comfortable and convenient. This is a fairly typical city centre hotel which is a few minutes' walk from all the major attractions in central Florence. It's about 10 minutes easy walk from the rail station. The entrance doesn't do the rest of the hotel justice, consisting of a flight of rather smelly stairs with no lift, but the... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
