I loved this quaint hotel. It was clean and the staff were the most friendly and helpful of any we encountered over the 3 weeks we were in Europe. The Asian woman at the desk helped us carry very heavy luggage up the countless steps. The woman who prepared our breakfast was a cheerful and accommodating person. We loved her... more

This was a great option for us, as it was near the very center of town, in close and convenient walking distance to all of the sites we wanted to see. The rooms were a bit small, but it helped that they had vaulted ceilings. They were charming though, and each were decorated after a famous Renaissance artist, which we... more

The New Haven, CT response on the bug bites, I lived in Italy for over 8 years and lived quite close to the center of town. The mosquitos used to eat me up. Thing is unlike in the Caribean you never feel or see them biting you, they just leave their mark and you do not realize it until much... more

This hotel is hidden on the corner of one of the most central roads in the old city of Florence. The owner Bruno is a wonderful person and was always there to help us with whatever we needed. inside the hotel it has a very comfortable and welcoming feel. The rooms are very nicely decorated and the bathrooms although small... more

This hotel has a lot going for it. The price is low. The location is superb, close to the train station and situated so you can walk to everything - Duomo, Uffizi, Accademia, restaurants, plus lots of shopping. Of course, if you can afford to shop in the stores that were around the hotel (every famous Italian designer you can... more

Hotel Abaco has seen better days and is overpriced for the cramped, dingy surroundings reached by walking up three flights of unlit stairs (even at night). The bathroom had a bad odor and meager facilities in a space the size of a tiny closet. The shower sprays on the floor shared with the WC and sink, the curtain of thin,... more

Hotel Abaco was tolerable except for the pillows. We are not picky people and have stayed at many small hotels in the past, but the pillows at hotel abaco made sleeping extremely difficult. It felt as though the pillows were some sort of very lumpy bean bag. Everything else was okay, but we wouldn't stay there again. more

Despite the various scary reviews on travel advisor, I still followed the recommendations of lonely planet and booked a 3night stay at Hotel Abaco. The only faults I can find are that the climb up to the property with heavy luggage was terrible. If you can live with 5min of difficult heavy lifting, you'll find your stay here quite rewarding.... more

We stayed at Hotel Abaco for three nights during our recent two week trip to Italy. The process of making reservations via email was very smooth and the staff was very friendly. Our room was very, very clean and the bed was super comfortable, one of the best beds of our whole trip. The decor was interesting and very well... more
