My friend and I stayed here Oct 2014. The staff was very warm and friendly and the room and bathroom very clean. The bathroom is not en-suite but it was not an issue whatsover. The breakfast was delightful and the location perfect! I highly recommend!!

During our tour of Italy, we planned to spend 1 day and 1 night in Florence. We got there by train and couldn’t find the place since I had forgotten to print the B&B’s location. Actually it was a 5 minute walk from the railway station and we got there easily after calling them on the phone. When we arrived,... More

You would never guess that tucked inside a building off the main rail station in Florence there is the most delightful garden... what a lovely place to relax after a long day of shopping or frenetical sightseeing! Special mention for the owners Signora Roberta and her daughter Elisa who will get out of their way to make your stay as... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
