It is always the simplicity of this hotel that I really love. The rooms, the service, the breakfast and the staff are always excellent. Whenever you have questions about things to do, places to visit, restaurants locally etc the reception staff go the extra mile every time. Rooms are always spotless and the bathrooms have everything you could need. The... More

My husband and I just had the most enjoyable 3 day stay at Room Mate Luca -- which started from the moment we walked through the front door after our last minute hotel deal fell through. We were checked in and instantly made to feel welcome by Franco, despite what was a very busy time at the hotel. The room... More

Fantastic service very obliging staff. Hotel in a great location with only minutes walk to all the attractions of Florence. Room was slightly on the small side but ample for one person. TV and air conditioning in excellent working order perfect for that mid afternoon siesta! Thanks a million Viron in the kitchen couldn't have been more helpful or friendly... More

I'll credit Room Mate Luca for cleanliness and for having the typical amenities. I gave a low rating because: 1) I booked 2 rooms through Agoda and was over-charged at the hotel by over 100 euro; the receptionist said that this was because an error was made by the booking service. I think that the appropriate response to this issue... More

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and loved Florence. The hotel lobby has a nice vibe on check in and importantly, the hotel has level access and an elevator, so there is no lugging your luggage up stairs. Staff are friendly and helpful. I asked for a quiet room at the back of the hotel. The room, a standard... More

Every now and then travel plans go awry... and a person is at the mercy of others to fix a difficult situtation. For our 5th anniversary, we made a booking at a different hotel, and the room was completely unsatisfactory (dirty, tired, hot). We ended up finding this little gem. When we explained our situation, they were very obliging... gave... More

Stayed here for one night, rooms are clean, service is good and the breakfasts were excellent. The staff at breakfast went out of their way to look after you. I forgot his name but especially one of the Sri Lankan waiters. The location is very handy too

My wife and me stayed here for 3 nights and would definitely not mind staying here again on our next visit to Florence. Very stylish and modern rooms, great spread of breakfast and excellent service! 10-15 mins walk from Duomo, slightly off from the heart of the historic area of florence, yet walking distance! The only negative would be that... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
