Doreen is the perfect host: friendly, hard-working, well informed, eager to provide help and advice and we would come here again without a doubt. The location is fantastic - walking distance to everything in the old city. more

This hotel was just perfect. The location was great - within walking distance of everything. The owner (an Australian) lives on site and will tell you anything you need to know about Florence and getting around and what to see (if you haven't already done your homework) The hotel has a wonderful lounge room with beautiful original frescoes on the... more

I booked Hotel Scoti based solely on TA reviews for my honeymoon in June. It was average, at best. I fully realize it is on the cheaper side of the spectrum for Florence, but still. The room was just a room, fairly small. Nowhere to fit our two backpacks, overlooking what seemed to be some sort of underground parking garage... more

We stayed in many places during our trip to Italy but Hotel Scoti was by far our favourite. Central to everything but really quet. Gorgeous peaceful rooms, great location and very reasonble rates. Could not find fault with this place. Our host Doreen did everything she could to make us feel at home. We felt like we were her only... more

My 21 year old son & I stayed four nights in a double room (twin beds) in the Annex at the Scoti. At 110 Euros per night I must admit I was disappointed in the size of the room - we couldn't move around and were tripping over our bags. The room & bathroom were well cared for and very... more

We stayed at the Hotel Scoti for 5 nights with our 2 children. We stayed in a large, quadruple room with en suite, which was simply furnished and extremely clean. The hotel was easy to find due to the clear written instructions provided by the most hospitable, Doreen. The hotel is in a fantastic location, within walking distance of all... more

We stayed in this hotel for 4 days in May 2007 and loved it. It is a walkable distance to all the major attractions and is right in the middle of all the shopoing Florence has to offer. A cab from the train station would cost around 10 euros. The hotel staff were very helpful and we had a great... more

We recently spent 6 nights at the Scoti and had a great stay. The location is fantastic – the entrance door on Via Tournabuoni is sandwiched between designer shops Save the Queen and Prada – and it’s directly opposite Cartier jewellers. You enter through the huge wooden door and take the quirky vintage lift up to the second floor. Unfortunately,... more

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Scoti a few years ago, so it was an easy decision to stay there again in 2008. A few blocks from the Uffizi and the Arno, the hotel is on the 2nd floor of a 14th century palazzo. Doreen and Carmelo are perfect hosts. Breakfast in your room is available. Some of the... more
