This bed and breakfast is fantastic. 5 rooms on the floor. Each morning Alvina makes your breakfast and serves you in your room. She is a great resource, very friendly. Can make your dinner reservations. The Duomo is right out the door 600 yards down the street.

Charming place with fantastic service given by the lady owner. We had a really nice stay in Florens thanks to her advice and helpfullness. Slept well and had a fantastic breakfast served in our spacious room. Good value for the money!

Loved our stay here. The location was perfect and so close to the main areas. The lady (Albena) was so attentive and caring. Nothing was too much trouble......most impressive of all was when she took off on her bicycle to find us a cab to the airport as the booking service was over-run. Sure enough she located one and brought... More

This hotel had the best breakfast of the trip. The hostess would cook what you requested, any time between 8 and 10 AM. We eat low carb (a bit tough in Italy), and we were able to have omelets, scrambled eggs/bacon, zucchini frittata, etc. When the hostess found out about our dietary needs she went out of her way to... Thank you very much for your review. We are happy you enjoyed our B&B and our breakfast. We are right around the corner from one of Florence's biggest squares, some events are held there during the summer, but most of them don't last until very late at night and are not very loud (for example there's an outdoors cinema). You... More

Our family of four (with 15 and 16 year old kids) arrived early and Albena, one of our hosts, immediately set the tone for the service level we would receive. She took time to sit down and walk us through a map, marking key locations and suggested restaurants. Her tips immediately helped, as we spent the rest of day walking... More

Loved everything! Try this if you're ever in Florence. Best in class & we will return! We travelled with children aged 10 & 2. We had a huge room with kitchenette & sink, plus beautiful painting on ceiling of our room. Left Florence & already (whole family including our 2-year old daughter) missing Benna's (hope I spelled her name correctly)... More

My husband could not have chosen a better Bed &Breakfast for us all. Traveled with friends who were equally delighted. Walter & Albena were two of the warmest people we have ever meet. One of our friends nicknamed Walter the "Mayor of Florence," as my friend thought he left his cell phone on taxi & Walter was on a mission... More

I chose this B&B based on Tripadvisor reviews...and it went beyond my expectations. It is in a great location. The "Duomo" is a 5-minute walk, along with the "Galleria Accademia" where the statute of David and other artifacts are located. My wife and I, along with another couple, celebrated our anniversaries and choosing this B&B made our celebration even more... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in June 2015. We absolutely loved our experience. Albena is warm, caring, hardworking, generous, and she imbues the whole place with warm hospitality heart. Albena, the location, and the breakfast in your room were my favorite aspects of this hotel. The hotel is well-located-- we walked there from the train station (took maybe 15... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
