That was a good surprise when I arrived there and saw the amazing view at the bar... the tends were nice, but I missed spots to charge my cellphone. The location is perfect, because it is near from Michelangelo's square and the best club in Florence!!!

I hate camping but I saw this place online and thought it would be a good compromise between a hotel and a tent. Worst decision ever! Firstly the bar next to the camp blasts bass music until 3-4am in the morning, It is obscenely loud and impossible to sleep through. The tent was covered in spiderwebs and squashed bugs on... More

After staying in a campsite in Venice I was extremely disappointed in the plus camping michelangelo as it had looked superior to the other one on the website. What a mistake. We rented a tent for 3 nights and yes they were bigger and more spacious than the ones in Venice but that was the only good point. The lights... More

I recently stayed at this camp site after staying at the plus camping jolly in Venice, what a downgrade. To start off I would like to mention the rude staff, coming around the tables clearing things that we were using and throwing them in the bin, not helpful in which way or form. I arrived Florence with 5 mosquito bites... More

We stayed at Camping Michelangelo after staying at Jolly Plus Camping in Venice, so naturally we compared the two. Michelangelo was nice because the tents had hardwood floors, it was conveniently located steps away from Piazzale Michelangelo and the bus stop from the train station was across the street. It is far from the main center of Florence but we... More

Backed up showers, sinks, laundry machines not working. The campsite is in a state of general disrepair. The discotheque next door is insanely loud. Plan on listening to bad american dance remixes until 3 am. Earplugs are of little use. The sound permeates the entire camp. The only reason to stay here is the prime location. Wifi is very poor... Pretty good location, just a short bus ride away from the city centre/ train station and is situated quite close to Michelangelo square which is gorgeous. The tents are really hot, like really hot. Some are in the shade, some aren't so don't bank on getting the best nights sleep of your life. There's lights in the tent but no... More

Do not stay here. There's lights in the tents, no powerpoints though. Beers are pricey as, there's literally no vibe and nothing to do. It's not like the photos, and NOTHING like camping plus Roma.. The ATM on the map doesn't exist either. Go elsewhere, spend your pennies, don't do this to yourself.

I'm not surprised at some of the reviews of this place; but for me it was average. About the outlets: yes they are only in the bar/communal area and sometimes it's crowded u have to wait, but you'll usually end up being able to charge your stuff at one point or another. I haven't been to a camping place anywhere... More

At the time of writing, a disco nearby is pumping up loud music. Even with earplugs, impossible to sleep. It's only 00:30. Toilets are basic indeed and the idea of not being able to sleep doesn't like me a all!

Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighborhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
