we stayed in one of the tent house things they have a bunk bed and one single bed thats it very basic the walk to the toilet is steep uphill and if you stay at the bottom its abit of a trek. The bar and shop are good and theres a night club just down the way which is agood... more

Camping Michelangelo has without doubt, the best view of the Duomo of Florence of any place in the city. From the outdoor restaurant area the view is enough to make a grown man cry. My wife and I both felt that we really lucked out with Camping Michelangelo. We stayed in a tent, but there were little yurt-like things available... more

Well organised with good shop and bar. Very central with easy walk downhill to the city centre Fairly expensive Steep walk uphill to campsite from city centre Location in city centre means the drive to the site is a challenge for caravans and big motorhomes. Washrooms could be improved - no paper in the cubicles and no soap dispensers at... more

The worst part is getting there. We like walking instead of taking buses, but with big backpacks this was about a 40 min. hike, with the last 10 min totally uphill. Directions on website are terrible, and I think they have a left/right mixup a couple of places. After about an hour we eventually found it. Nice lockable tents, clean,... more

This was our first European camping experience - we usually stay in hotels. We all loved it! I was with my wife and three little kids (6,7, and 9) and Campeggio Michelangelo was inexpensive, convenient, and really very wonderful. The location is fantastic. Amazing views while sipping a beer at the end of the day! It's an easy walk to... more

My fiance and I stayed here in May 2008. It was a great place for us. The tents come with bunkbeds, but they are comfortable. It is so affordable and has such a great view I can't believe there are bad reviews. We didnt have any problems with bugs. I can see how it might get cold or hot since... more

This camp ground is in a great location and the views over Florence are wonderful. So now to the negatives, service was rubbish, we were not given the LED torch for the tent or linen as we apparently came at the wrong time and also booked over the phone. We found the people in the restaurant area to be quite... more

I wasn't sure what to expect from an urban campground. The tents are nice and reasonably roomy but quite utilitarian. No power or lighting. It's a bit of a hike from the tent to the bathroom, so a night time nature call is rather inconvenient. Somehow the staff was always cleaning the bathrooms but they were never actually clean. The... more

If you don't like insects, the cold/heat , communal toilets or close neighbours, then don't choose to stay at Camping Michealangelo (or indeed any campsite in an urban area). If you enjoy unique experiences, meeting new people and the outdoors then I can most certainly recommend it. Some friends and I stayed here for 3 nights in July, and all... more
