The Novella House is very inconspicuous on the street; indeed when we found it we hardly could recognize it as a hotel. There is no lobby or reception desk as such. However the very nice young man in charge greeted us promptly at the door, took us to our room, and carried all of our considerable luggage up for us.... More

Novella House provides excellent location with easy walking access to all major attractions. An added bonus is the train and bus depots are very close. The rooms are large, comfortable bed. Franseco is very supportive and provides willingly support and will book tours to major attractions This house is very clean and well priced but will be in need of... More

Stayed at this hole for two nights. VERY large room with sitting room and separate bedroom. Had coffee maker in room with snacks that were free. Owner was a very cordial young man that spoke very good English and was very helpful. He made recommendations for several restaurants both for lunch and dinner. For lunch turn right out of the... If you are looking for something authentic, reasonably priced and very close to the historic centre of Florence, Novella House is a great choice. The large suites are spotlessly clean and airy, beautifully furnished, and air conditioned which is a boon in summer and early autumn. The bathrooms are not North American style, but once you get used to the... More

Unfortunately I had only one night here. A quaint, push the bell entry and the 17thC building unfolds. I had a large room overlooking a back garden with a oainted ceiling and the bathroom was down a small hallway, I did say quaint. The position is an easy short walk from the station and very close to Santa Maria Novella,... More

The "Palace" (which just means big house in Italy) has a very plain door, but it's very nice inside. Our room was small, but we loved the fresco ceiling. No hot breakfast, but a fine array of snacks along with an espresso maker. The proprietor, Francesco, is charming, eager, and gave us good recommendations. The location is the real draw... More

Florence was one of the last stops on our two week stay in Italy. We were hoping for a little more than what we got. It seemed old and dusty, not well kept. There weren't enough towels. The inn keeper was difficult to get in touch with. On the plus side, there was a refrigerator and hair dryer. Also, it... More

The Novella House has a great location ,close to the train station and close to the main attractions of Firenze .We rented an apartment (apart 50) for 6 nights . The apartment was spacious and pretty clean , but no maid service (all this time) , no breakfast , traces of dead mosquitoes on the walls , bathroom radiator not... More

The novella house is at a great location near major attractions. There is a slight smell of sewers but that only adds to the overall medieval feeling of the street. Take note that the parking is not included and is situated about 300 meters away at a private parking for 20 EUR p day. During the night there is noise... More
