We spent 4 nights here and can't fault this hotel. We had room 21 called Michaelangelo, and although not huge it was ample for our needs. The bed was large and comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean and even had a kettle which is very rare in our experience of 3 star hotels in Italy. The shower cubicle was... More

Good location, near bus & train station. Few minute walk to Santa Maria. Friendly staff, give us a good advice to nearest attraction. The room is clean. But Wifi is weak, can't connect in the room. Another things is i don't under-stand why they no allow us connect wifi in their lobby or restaurant on night time?!!

The hotel was very modern. The beds vet comfortable. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Be aware that the lobby is located on the third floor, not ground level. We arrived I the late evening and were a bit confused. Improved signage would be recommended. The lift is a bit hidden where wit is more obvious. We had a great... More

This location is excellent being just a short walk from most of the sites. Access is up 3 - 4 flights of stairs though and the lift looked a bit precarious, so we wouldn't advise for people with mobility concerns. The room was a decent size although a little dated, but it was nice to have a proper window onto... More

The location is excellent, great to go in and out throughout the day to freshen up. A/C worked very well in the 36C heat but needs some fixing of vents. We had the Donatello room which was quiet. The room was clean, although more traditional in style. Breakfast is simple. Staff are very helpful and friendly. If you leave your... More

This Hotel is centraly located, but this is the only positive thing on it. Quality is poor, low quality furniture, broken bath, not clean, very simple breakfast. Staff is kind of nice. My room was located towards to noisy street and my choice was very simple: either to sleep bad because I had closed window, or not sleep at all,... More

I would stay here again. Great location, price is right for a quick stay. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Strange walk up to check in. This wouldn't work if handicapped. Okay rooms but from the looks of today's pics, they have made some great updates.

Very authentic hotel with amazing staff and manager. The service was amazing and the rooms were nice. Contributed to my stay in Florence and they gave great suggestions of activities and restaurants. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Two friends of mine and I stayed here for our first night in Florence. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished. The hotel manager suggested a great restaurant for us to eat at and we received a discount for being students! The manager even gave us a bottle of wine at the end... More

(-) Noise...Noise...Noise... Not enough isolation for window (5mm gap between window&its frame and all street noise comes into the room). We woke up around 5 o'clock in the morning because of street noise... At last, we had to put newspapers between frame and window in order to prevent the noise. The room door has the same isolation problem and all... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
