We arrived at Florence railway station from Pisa and found the hotel easily as it is very close to the Duomo, about a ten minute walk from the station. The hotel is very well placed near to all of the sights ,Florence is very walkable. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. There is a nice lounge... More

We spent only one night in Florence during our last long trip to Europe, from Mauritius where we live. We needed a place central. Bigallo is right in the historical centre. The hotel is old and quaint. OK service, a bit better than average. Very average breakfast. Very spacious room, air conditioned (essential, it was already getting quite warm). The... More

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The location is superb. The view from the hotel window will blow your mind. And also you're staying in the most central part of the city. It cannot possible be any better if you want to stay in Florence.

Great hotel and an even better location. Yes the rooms are not huge but why do you need a large room in such a beautiful city that is literally on the door step. Aircon is included which in a city is perfect. Bathroom is just what you need. There are so many things to see a few days is not... More

After a 10 minute stroll from the central station we arrived at the hotel - wow! Stunning views overlooking the duomo. Rooms were absolutely adequate and staff friendly and informative. It's on 3rd floor but no problems as there is an elevator. Breakfast was typical continental and fine for a simple breakfast. All in all this hotel is great value... More

Stayed here for one night on May 26th, room 1401. Hotel was easy to find, being as central as you could wish. About 8 steps up to a lift that takes you to a 3rd floor reception. Lift worked fine for us, though small. Lady checking us in was lovely, different lady checked us out (seemed a bit aloof). Upon... More

I was in Florence for 2 days en route to a wedding not far outside so had limited time to enjoy the sites. The location was incredibly good for the value of our stay, you walk out the door and there's the duomo. The staff were lovely also.

Came here for a long weekend with my family. Amazing hotel, lovely breakfast and the breakfast lady was very helpful (sorry I cannot remember her name) very central to all the amenities. Lovely being woken up with the cathedral bells in the morning. Perfect weekend away and highly recommended.

The location of this hotel - 5 min from Duomo- is its greatest asset. It allowed us to easily return in the middle of a busy day for a short rest and then get back into the throng. It was also easy to go out at night. Room average but clean, bathroom also clean and small windows could be opened to... More

The viewing the duromo was spot on. Loved the location I can't say enough about it. The room was very clean we had a loft where our bed was located. The frig however did not work and the hair dryer was not so great. The best think is its location. But we did find the staff to be very kind.

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
