Very comfortable room and very nice accommodating staff. The breakfast was basic but just what you needed to set you up for the day. The Hotel is fabulously placed for sightseeing and places to eat, shop etc. Would definitely stay again. Point to note the entrance to the hotel is at the side of the shops up 3 flights of... More

I stayed here in June 2015 although the hotel is nothing to look at from the outside, even the entrance is tucked up a side alleyway that leads to a garage where all the ambulances you see in the square are parked. Once you enter the hotel you get into a very small but fast lift that takes you up... More

What a great location - just a few meters from the main square, Duomo, Baptistery and Bell Tower. It's also an easy walk to the Academia, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio and much more. There are lots of places to eat nearby as well. The hotel itself is very nice, clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The only minor complaint... More

Room was clean and comfortable with a nice view of the square by the Duomo. Breakfast (included) was basic and all that I needed. My only issue was that there was an extra charge for internet use (not a problem) but the connection was unreliable and the front desk was indifferent to the problem. Also, only one device could be... More

This is a basic hotel, with tight but well appointed rooms, but with the best location, right accross from the Firenze Duomo, and within walking distance of the main museums, the Arno River, the Ponte Vecchio, the Mercato Centrale, and multiple and excellent choices for dinning and people watching. The breakfast is very good, and the staff are all lovely,... More

The location is nice and central, had a great view of the Cathedral from our room. Nice room with mezzanine floor bedroom, room not to gig but that is what you get in these old hotels. Breakfast was good, had to pay for WiFi and it was not that good kept loosing the internet connection.

The best feature of this hotel is its perfect location directly in the center, right by the Duomo. Even though the view from the reception was gorgeous, we did not have any view from the room, as our window was partially barricated. Thus the room was a bit dark, but we did not spend much time inside, so it was... More

The location helped a little with my rating. The room was tight, but you get use to that, it's Italy everything is tight. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was good. The bed wasn't the greatest.

Checkin is on 3rd floor after going up a couple of steps to the lift. Checkin was swift, room was opposite checkin so was worried about noise, but we heard nothing - extremely quiet. Great location - fantastic view opposite Duomo. Clean room, bed a little on the hard side. Breakfast minimal. I had pre-requested gluten free and an opened... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
