Staying at Hotel Mario's was a great experience while visiting Florence. The hotel room was fairly spacious and very clean, it came equipped with air conditioning and free WiFi. The hotel served a complimentary breakfast in the morning with the typical European pastries, meats and cheeses, etc. which was good. The hotel was within walking distance to all of the... More

The staff working at Hotel Mario's really care about all guests, are willing to help in all situations, offer solutions and advice. The location is very convenient, central, close to the station, but on quiet street, close to all main attractions. Would definately stay there again and recommend to everyone!

Great location, just a few minutes away from the train station but without any problems regarding train noise. The hotel is located on a street with good and rather cheap restaurants (compared to the ones near the main piazzas), less than a 10 min walk from the Dome. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The reception also had a... More

The location is close to Florence's train station so it is very easily walkable. It might be comparatively further away from the historical center but if you don't mind an extra 5 to 10 minutes walk, this is perfectly fine. Even though it's a bit further away, Via Faenza is full of restaurants so it feels safe to walk back.... More

Very nice and friendly staff with home feel restaurant and bar area. Good air conditioner is very helpful in summer time. Local is good as well, close to train station and walking distance to many tourist spots. Will refer to my friends who come to Florence next time.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. We were able to walk to the hotel from the train station. The staff was very friendly. They gave us a map and recommended sights to see, places to eat, etc. The size of our room was huge compared to our hotels in Venice and Rome. The buffet every morning wasn't... More

Great hotel! Close to the train station (a few blocks), easy to find. It was on a quiet street meant almost exclusively for pedestrians. Quiet at night. It felt like a more authentic Italian experience as opposed to staying in a modern hotel. The staff was so wonderful and welcoming, very impressed with everyone we met. The breakfast area was... My fiancee and i had a very nice stay at Hotel Mario's. We didn't stay in the room for long but felt at home when we did. The staff was very accommodating and extremely pleasant. I will be referring this hotel to my family and friends for sure.

This hotel was such a comfortable retreat. It's a great location in a quiet section of a busy street. Within walking distance of mostajor sites and shopping. Our room, #6, was very clean..bathroom was a bit small but this is to be expected of a European hotel. The staff were so warm and friendly. Mariana was a sweet front desk... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
