This is the hotel if you are looking for center location and action, this hotel is just steps away heading forward from Piazza del Duomo. Hotel Staff is amazing, even booked me a tour for Pisa, St.Gimigniano, and Siena... the private tour gave us a free stop at Monteriggioni. Very good for the price. Only problem, have to pay extra... Location is fantastic. Electronic keys. Room is acceptably small. Good and clean bathroom. Breakfast is too poor - cold snacks. Reception was quite friendly and helpful, but the "breakfast lady" does not behave as a good waiter indeed.

The location was fantastic, but the customer service was terrible. I had previously stayed at Hotel Villani, which is upstairs and had fantastic service, but there was no availability this time. We decided to stay at Hotel De Lanzi and was very disappointed. Breakfast was terrible. We asked about parking, and the attitude we received was horrible. They wanted us... More

We made our reservation in january using the site Booking and paid 200€. After our stay, we couldn't accept this was a 4 star hotel with this rate. And so it was !!! The rate for the same day was 114€ !!!! The customer service is terrible, the breakfast is very poor but even worse, security is a mess...

The room was tiny and the crazy lady at the breakfast buffet nearly tackled me when my taxi arrived and I tried to leave with my half eaten sandwich. Also they seemed to have some sort of leak as the hallways were always filled with wet towels.

My partner and I stayed for two nights on the third floor. Literally around the corner from Il Duomo. I'd read some bad recent reviews so had my wits about me, but the stay was very pleasant. the church bells were obviously a bit of a pain, but that's to be expected. Other than that, our room was quiet. The... More

Just 1 hour for free paying 90 euro for a double room single use. Average hotel with 4 stars price. Nothing special. Staff OK, anyway they can't do anything about prices. Pity for Florence deserves much more.......

We checked into a room and went for a walk, came back to the hotel room to find it open. Complained to the desk and told them we wanted a diferent room since we cannot feel safe under this circumstance and they did nothing. This ruined our visit to Florence.

Hardly a 'stone's throw' from Il Duomo, on arrival we were shown a (typically) modest room and were happy enough to be staying in it for three nights. However, our prior request for the room to be quiet was shattered at 4.00 AM on the first night, with a cacophony of shouts and restaurant rubbish bin sounds ! Ditto on... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
