1/2 a block to the Duomo. All of the Florence sight seeing was within walking distance. Yes the room was outdated but it was clean, the place tidy, great size breakfast was good, Internet fast. Easily 30 great restaurants in a 4 block radius. I like my luxury but when I go back to Florence this is where I want to be.... More

Location is perfect near Duomo and shops. also near Uddizi and Accademia. The receptionist are nice they will try to answer your questions. Although I find the room so small and outdated. Wifi is only free for one hour.

I checked out the hotels website which offers a library, bar, room service and large comfortable rooms. We were in a box. Instead of a window it had double doors leading to an abandoned roof garden, the doors wouldn't stay open (due to the tiny sized room) so we spent a week in perpetual darkness. The room had twin beds... More

As we only had two days in Florence, we chose this hotel for its convenient and central location and we were not disappointed! A one minute walk down a small street opposite the hotel doors, past a wonderful Gelaterie and you are at the Duomo! A very short walk in the opposite direction and you are on the main shopping... Great place to stay in Florence for those who intend to explore the city. The hotel is located on small street near the Duomo in an old building, my room 302 was very clean and cosy the window turn to inner patio so it was quiet. The staff is very friendly. Restaurants and shops are located nearby. Museums and historical... More

We stayed here for 4 nights as couple. The hotel location is great, near Duomo. It is 3 min walking to shops, restaurants or markets. In the morning can hear The Bells of St. Mary of Flowers Cathedral. The breakfast was tasty. But: We were here from Oct 16 to Oct 20 and the weather was already cold, sometimes with... More

My husband and I traveled to Europe this last summer and this was a great place to stay in Florence. You are literally a few steps away from the Duomo so you are close to everything. The train station is about a 10-15 walk. The hotel seems a bit outdated, specially when you first come in, but it has charm... More

The hotel is very well positioned. It even has a Duomo view. It is clean, quiet even if it is in the center of the town. The room has an old fashioned style, and you can have a great stay there. The bathrooms are small. The windows don't close perfectly but i guess you don't expect them to be perfect... More

We stayed for one night in Sept 2014 during the Florence leg of our whirlwind Europe trip... Location is 5/5- the Duomo is about 100 yards away and is stunning to glance at any time of day. Very convenient in Florence historic district- within a quarter mile of the Uffizi, Bargelo, Ponte Vecchio, multiple shopping, dining options... Took a long... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
