We stayed for one night in Sept 2014 during the Florence leg of our whirlwind Europe trip... Location is 5/5- the Duomo is about 100 yards away and is stunning to glance at any time of day. Very convenient in Florence historic district- within a quarter mile of the Uffizi, Bargelo, Ponte Vecchio, multiple shopping, dining options... Took a long... More

1. Perfect location. Both Florence cathedral and Piazza della Signoria are a couple of minutes away. Within a short walking distance from the central railway station. 2. Bed was comfortable, AC was working well, breakfast was sufficient. 3. Service was good. 4. Make your reservation early. Then you will get a good deal for your money. Would certainly stay again... My 21 yr old son and I stayed here for 3 nights at a friend's recommendation. It's so close to everything, the Duomo is 200 ft. away. A/C worked, beds were comfy. Shower could use more pressure tho', WiFi is pay per use. Sparse breakfast, but just enough until lunchtime. The hotel was perfect base camp as we were gone... More

My husband and I booked this hotel without seeing some of the scathing Trip Advisor reviews, and then when we finally did read them, we were very nervous about what our five night stay with them would be like. It's really not bad though. I'd most likely stay again...especially if they finally broke down and offered free internet. Pros: clean... More

The hotel got an exellece location closed to the duomo and its easy to reach all the Other Important Spots in firenze. But i just suggest the hotel if you dont want to spend much time in the hotel. Its possible to be Lucky with the room but if not its really disappointing. Our toilet was defect and if we... More

We stayed in Hotel De Lanzi for 2 nights and it was a pleasant stay. The hotel has an excellent location in the heart of Duomo. It is also close to all the attractions and shopping streets. The staff was friendly but we didn't understand the reason why we had to leave our keys to the reception everytime we left... More

This is the hotel if you are looking for center location and action, this hotel is just steps away heading forward from Piazza del Duomo. Hotel Staff is amazing, even booked me a tour for Pisa, St.Gimigniano, and Siena... the private tour gave us a free stop at Monteriggioni. Very good for the price. Only problem, have to pay extra... Location is fantastic. Electronic keys. Room is acceptably small. Good and clean bathroom. Breakfast is too poor - cold snacks. Reception was quite friendly and helpful, but the "breakfast lady" does not behave as a good waiter indeed.

The location was fantastic, but the customer service was terrible. I had previously stayed at Hotel Villani, which is upstairs and had fantastic service, but there was no availability this time. We decided to stay at Hotel De Lanzi and was very disappointed. Breakfast was terrible. We asked about parking, and the attitude we received was horrible. They wanted us... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
