The Hotel Giglio is a gem among Florence’s three star hotels. My wife and I stayed at the Giglio for ten days in June-July 09. Upon the completion of his study abroad program, our son joined us during our stay. All three of us lived comfortably in a Giglio triple. The room had comfortable beds, adequate space to store our... more

Pros: Excellent service. The staff were very friendly and suggested places to eat at. The owner of the hotel also offered to take us to the train station when we checked out. He also refused to take a tip from us, but we insisted. The hotel is also about a 20 – 25 minute walk from the train station which... more

This is a great hotel with a friendly staff. The rooms are pretty basic but very large and include a mini-refrigerator. The b-fast is good and they will make you excellent cappacinos. The location is walking distance to the Duomo, the David, the Pontivechio. We didn't need to use a cab or public transportation at all everything was 10-30min walk.... more

We stayed here for two nights in a quad room. The room was basic but roomy and comfortable, crispy clean and quiet. Nice breakfast. Wireless internet was free. About 15 minute easy walk to the Duomo. The desk staff was incredibly helpful and went out of their way to offer suggestions and recommendations. They even drove us to the car... more

we never stay in 3 star hotels, but florence was full when we wanted to go. Big fashion event, so we chose `hotel Giglio. The service is terrific, the owners helpful and charming. free internet, terrific capuccino for breakfast, spotlessly clean, nice size rooms, modern bathrooms and most importantly it is quiet. more

All the good things everyone else has said are true. Marco gave us a lift to the Uffuzzi one morning and to the train station on the morning we left. He also referrred us to a little restaurant nearby, Tito, which was great. The chef came out ofter our meal and brought a bottle of cold limoncello and shared with... more

Trip advisor I am so happy I read your reviews because this hotel was just as nice as everyone said. We really were happy with our room which was a triple and had plenty of room to move around. The room was very nice with great bedding and a new bathroom. the ac also worked great which was perfect because... more

As usual, I trusted Tripadvisor and chose Hotel Giglio for a short stay in Florence with my 17 year old son. I have never felt let down by the reviews of previous hotels I have used but this one more than matched the many plaudits it has received. For the money we paid, this is a jewel, a remarkable find.... more

It would be a good hotel for €80 per night, but it is far more expensive. The amount I mention is not incidental, as this is the price I heard the owner offering to someone asking for a room in the reception. You can imagine how disappointed I felt having paid €135 for a room with mosquitos (fortunately not aggressive)... more
