Our second visit to Florence and no hestitation in booking Hotel Giglio for the second time. Perfect location: 5/10 mins from City Cetre and a nice stroll past bars and coffeeshops. Florence is easy to find your way around, and this acts as a great base for exploring. This is a small hotel- first floor with little elevator. Not a... More

If you stay at this hotel- make sure you request a room as far away from the road as possible (terrace facing rooms are quieter). I didn't get a wink of sleep my first night. As hotel is all one floor, we started the evening with very noisy kids running around and screaming at around 9pm. Then, at 12am till... More

Stayed with my wife and two kids. Four of us in one room. We thought it would be tough but it was okay. Had a great time and the hotel staff were very good and helpful. We had a problem with our flight and they helped us out with good advice. Most places have continental breakfast which was fine for... More

Unpretentious and helpful staff in a modest but clean hotel in the heart of the city. Comfortable semi-modern room with a small balcony and a very big view! Lots of sites walkable from here and close to train station.

This has to be one of my most favourite hotels during my Italy trip. Owners/Managers is very helpful if you need any assistance as to where to go or how to get there. Breakfast is hot/cold mix and food is fresh and filling. Quiet area but close to walk to where you need to be - about 10min walk from... More

Morning staff was very helpful and accomodating, the hotel is small and intimate. The room was pretty. I was hoping for an extra blanket in the closet and the bed wasn't the most comfortable. Located in a more quiet part of town.

Add this to your list of places to stay. Breakfast was remember that there is a lift in the corner of the entrance way. (Not easy to see) The reception is on level 1 The welcome set the tone for the entire stay. We were welcomed by Marco (He has a brother Roberto who is just as welcoming) with a... More

We stayed three nights here in September 2014 and throughly enjoyed our stay. The hosts are gracious and helpful. The breakfast includes both hot and cold items. You can even have the host make you a cappuccino! Our room was spacious with everything we needed. We had a view out into the courtyard which made it nice and quiet. We... More

The hotel is brilliantly situated to visit Florence on foot so 5 star on that front. 5 stars too for the welcoming, friendly and ultra helpful staff. 2 stars for the room itself that is in need of renovating - high ceiling and decent sized bathroom would provide for a great makeover including new bathroom, bed/furniture and furnishings - shampoo/bathroom... Hotel Giglio is a great option when choosing a hotel in Florence. You're a close walk to the Duomo and all the main sights, along with several nearby piazzas and parks, but the neighborhood is quiet and not nearly as crawling with tourists as everywhere else in Florence. The entire staff was so incredibly friendly and helpful with everything from... More
