Having searched around for places I booked this place as the price was reasonable and was near enough to everything. It is a bit of walk from the station so if you come in by train I advise getting the bus or a taxi. Was a bad trip getting to Florence due to a gas leak, but when I arrived... More

We have just had 8 nights in Hotel Giglio and whilst they may not have the most luxurious premises this is compensated for by so many other factors. The intial "welcome" is genuine and that's the atmosphere for the remainder of your stay. I don't think we have ever met more congenial, helpful and considerate hosts than Marco, Manuela and... We ended up staying at the Giglio twice at the beginning and end of our Italy trip. The staff was extremely friendly, Marco and his wife and Roberto were so kind and friendly, treated us like family. The rooms were beautiful with tall ceilings and more than enough space to accommodate our family of 4. My daughter ending up getting... More

I visited this hotel with my husband in February 2015. It was booked by our tour operators and is located very close to the downtown, walking distance from the main shopping and tourist attractions in Florence. It was very close to the train station as well, which we realised only on the last day of our 3 nights stay there.... More

We spent three nights at this hotel. Roberto gave us a warm welcome, a cold drink, plenty of information regarding where we were in relation to the main sights and cards for restaurants which would give some discounts. We ate at two of them, both of which were excellent. The room was comfortable and even though it faced the road,... More

We spent one night in Florence in a triple room at hotel giglio. The hotel was small but very nice. Very good location. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent quality price ratio. Highly recommended.

Our second visit to Florence and no hestitation in booking Hotel Giglio for the second time. Perfect location: 5/10 mins from City Cetre and a nice stroll past bars and coffeeshops. Florence is easy to find your way around, and this acts as a great base for exploring. This is a small hotel- first floor with little elevator. Not a... More

If you stay at this hotel- make sure you request a room as far away from the road as possible (terrace facing rooms are quieter). I didn't get a wink of sleep my first night. As hotel is all one floor, we started the evening with very noisy kids running around and screaming at around 9pm. Then, at 12am till... More

Stayed with my wife and two kids. Four of us in one room. We thought it would be tough but it was okay. Had a great time and the hotel staff were very good and helpful. We had a problem with our flight and they helped us out with good advice. Most places have continental breakfast which was fine for... More

Unpretentious and helpful staff in a modest but clean hotel in the heart of the city. Comfortable semi-modern room with a small balcony and a very big view! Lots of sites walkable from here and close to train station.
