Positive: friendly, helpful staff. Negatives: everything else..... Location, condition, etc. How this hotel has a four star rating is beyond me. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Booked (bid 4-5 star hotel) through PL with ins. Paid $160 per night. According to front desk rooms for same dates US$101. PL did not stand behind their price guarantee.

If you can tolerate stains on your bedroom carpet, a shower that soaks the entire bathroom floor, overlooking a balcony that serves as a home for pigeons, mediocre food, unreliable wifi, and rude Brits on the late shift, then this is the hotel for you! Most of the day staff, as well as the dining staff, were lovely and helpful.... More

I will give the hotel credit for its very helpful Italian day concierge and restaurant manager. The British night concierge was rude to multiple people, the bar and outside terrace, were locked up at night, and the internet was very spotty. We had to ask for soap in the bathroom, the room was dirty and there was no way to... More

I recently stayed here with a group of students and I must say that this was a FUNCTIONAL hotel. It was certainly not the fanciest and ritziest place but the room was clean, spacious, and the staff bared with our broken Italian in a very kind manner. The breakfast was simple but delicious; the location is not bad for sightseeing... More

- Location: Bad. It's near the bus stop. However, bus route to the hotel is off the main tourist attraction. INCONVINENT. - Room status: Terrible. Just one simple discription : the first thing I saw on the hotel's floor is the bird's feather. - Staff: Kind.

Old hotel, plumbing didn't work, wifi didn't work and we didn't feel comfortable. Go somewhere else if you can. Not close to anything but was on a tour and obviously a deal was made with the tour company. Even the breakfast was horrible. Barely a step above a hostel.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights. Nothing fancy - our room was clean and spacious. However the English man on night duty was disrespectful, rude and downright condescending. Returning to the hotel late one evening with some fellow travellers I required access to my room with the master key. Instead of assisting me in a polite and straightforward... More

Our room was on the top floor near the back and very quiet. I was surprised to read that some people found the rooms to be dirty as ours was exceptionally clean. The hotel is old but appears to be well maintained. The only problem we encountered on our 3 night stay was intermittent difficulty getting hot water in the... More

First, the directions via email received were imprecise and got us walking two miles after getting off bus 14 from S.M. Novella train station to the hotel. After that, we asked for directions again for our return and imprecise again but less walking time. Third time, a different person at the reception desk gave us the right stop, which is... More

Room was sort of small, but included mini-fridge. Bathroom was okay. Staff was pleasant. Though the patio looks nothing like the management pictures, we did sit out there one evening with a glass of wine from the bar and chatted, sheltered from the light rain by the heavy covering of leaves on the overhead trellis. It was an easy walk... More
