We only stayed in Florence for one night, and we didn't particularly need any longer, but this hotel was enough for a short stay, it was just very basic, but if you are after cheaper accommodation this'll do. Very close to train station, we could walk with very heavy luggage, and close to some restaurants and shops. Staff were friendly... More

Stayed three nights here following three nights in Venice and travelling to Florence by train. The hotel was close to the train station, the reception staff were really friendly and gave us a good welcome. They were also really helpful booking us excursions and giving us directions - particularly Oliver. The room was quite basic, but air conditioned and clean,... More

This is a great location, it is walking distance to everything in Florence, museums, churches, the Arno river and only five minutes to the Santa Maria railway station. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. The hotel is quite old, it has a quaint looking lobby and reception, it even has an old telephone booth. Our breakfast was included, cold continental... More

Fantastic location in the city but this hotel is very tired and in need of refurbishment. The staff were very helpful but the room we were offered was like a monastic cell and the continental breakfast had a very poor choice. Nothing appears to have changed for years.

We stayed for 5 nights for about EUR445 (excl city tax) including daily breakfast. The hotel is about 5mins walk from the train station and Central Market so great when you have heavy luggage, plus it has a lift. Reception staff were very friendly - we had a day tour that departed early one morning and a breakfast bag was... More

I only stayed two nights at this hotel and it was a good short stay, the reception staff were really nice and helpful when I asked them for some directions and where to buy bus tickets. The hotel infrastructure is old, but the rooms (at least the one I got), bath (big bathroom) and common areas were super clean and... More

Fantastic position at a reasonable price. Clean and comfortable room and very helpful desk staff. Perfect for a visit to the St Marco district. Excellent breakfast for vegetarians, too. We would like to go back but next time we will "do" a different district.

Stayed 6 nights in June-2015. The only good thing about this hotel is the staff - very friendly. Everything else is terrible. If you are in Florence look somewhere else. My wife had severe insect bites on her back and we suspect the insects were in the bed - bed bugs? (see pictures). When we came to the room we... More

We stayed here for 5 nights in June , the location is ABSOLUTELY ideal! Literally in the centre of the city ! Surrounded by shops, restaurants , the historic sites and a 3 minute walk from the train station. Can only get wifi on the ground floor of the Hotel , but wasnt a problem for us. The breakfast was... Stayed here for 3 nights. The room was adequate for our needs, although a little dark. Nice big bathroom though. Breakfast was good. Plenty to choose from for a 3 star hotel. Staff very friendly. Perfect for our needs.

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
