Loved this hotel. My wife and I stayed here in June for a week. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. It's in a great, quiet location away from downtown but close enough to get anywhere in Florence by a short walk. Don't go expecting chain hotel luxury, but it was clean, comfortable and quiet. I read the complaints by other... More

This hotel is outstanding. You should seek it out on your next visit. Charming, surrounded by gardens, kind staff who went out of their way to help up in many ways. May say three star, but you'll feel like it's five star. Can't recommend this hotel enough. The owner went out of his way to make sure our stay there... More

This is a comfortable pennsione for people who love history, old charm, and personal relationships with the wonderful staff! This is our second time staying here- 5 nights last year & 8 nights this June- and we know the room we love: #9 (interesting, since the prior woman didn't like it...)! In June, there was no construction noise at all,... More

We chose this hotel mainly on the price but it exceeded our expectations given the highly affordable price! Friendly staff who were willing to dispense restaurant recommendations, book taxis and even iron a shirt (we had a wedding to attend) for free. The building has an enormous amount of old-world charm and may not be to everyone's liking, but as... More

I am a very fair person and look at everything with open eyes and open heart. Before I left the USA for my vacation I checked back on TA and saw these bad reviews. I immediately called my Travel Agent and wanted to change. They called their company who called the hotel and were ensured there was NO construction. I... More

We at the Annalena Pensione are as unhappy as you that your expectations were not realized on your recent visit. We did not, however, misrepresent our pensione or the construction work here. Annalena hotel takes up only a part of this building ,in the building there are also a number of other privately owned apartments. At the time we were... More

We were a party of four. Admittedly, we were a little unsure of our hotel choice for Florence, based on feedback on Trip Advisor. I can say that the staff was helpful and gracious They gave us advice and made reservations, along with an arrival cappuccino. Breakfast was adequate -- no surprises or disappointments. Our rooms were extremely small, although... More

Hands down one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had anywhere in the world. Let me start off by saying the staff at the front desk was one of the friendliness and most helpful we had. Unfortunately they could not make up for the rest of the hotel and it's rooms. The hotel is on the 2nd floor... More

If you're a single traveller, you'd better go elsewhere: maybe I was particularly unlucky, but the room I got was a little more spacious than a not very spacious cupboard, with the door of the bathroom opening a few centimeters from the bed, being the bed the only place where to stay. No view from the window either. One wonders... More

Only spent night between 4 and 5 January. We were charmed by the location, the building and its history, the antiques and view on the garden. In addition to what already seen in other reviews, you should consider that breakfast is definitely ok by Italian standards. Eggs are also available. Buses from and to train station offer a valid modal... More

The hotel is in an old palazzo and we loved the historic building. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. The location is great, you can walk everywhere from there and there are lovely restaurants nearby. I would have loved tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but this is not standard in continental Europe. The only real problem were... More
