This is a great hotel in a perfect position near all of the main sites and the Arno. The staff were very friendly and the breakfasts were perfect. Plus we were upgraded to a better room; I assume because it was out of season. However be prepared for stairs up one floor and bring shampoo and shower gel.

I am writing this review for two reasons. The first is I researched all the hotels I went to on this trip (Rome, Florence, and Venice) through Trip Advisor. All the information I needed for hotels, restaurants and tours are all in one place on Trip Advisors site. Thank you Trip Advisor for a great trip. The second reason for... More

Here’s where we really saw the mosquito problems, we couldn’t open windows at all despite the stuffiness in the room. Mosquito bodies were all over walls. This was the tiniest bathroom through all of our travels, anywhere!!! The shower practically sat in the lap of the toilet, your knees had to go under sink when sitting on toilet! The step... More

We have to admit you are correct, Mosquitoes are a huge problem in Italian cities, including Florence. They can now survive for about 10 months out of 12, and our increasingly warm winters are not helping the situation any. We provide electrical repellents at our front desk and advise people to use creams, especially between April and October. Our local... More

This hotel is in the heart of the Historic district. We made the mistake to driving there which proved to be a challenge. The GPS did not work, Goggle Maps failed, citations and etc. The room was spacious but a little dated. The bed a little bumpy and the hotel is in need of renovations. The light system was tricky... Well yes. Probably pretty accurate on all points! We remind everyone everywhere we can (on our social media) that the city centre of Florence is a nightmare in a car, and probable cause for many divorces/family rows and the end of good friendships. We cannot however accept responsibility for a Google Maps/GPS failure. Some things are beyond even our control!... More

We stayed here three nights in September. For the price it is probably one of the best hotels in Florence. You can't beat the location. At the end of the block is the Ponte Vecchio and all of its shops. A block further along the Arno River is the Uffizi Gallery and the Duomo a short walk from there through... More

How wonderful! How terrible! We had mixed emotions reading this. But, as many of our long-term guests can testify, we take the low season winter months every single year to conduct not only major cleans and usual maintenance stuff, but also to do some serious upgrading. In recent years we have converted an abandoned space into a teeny tiny rooftop... More

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in November and it was a very nice experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was nicely updated and roomy. The location was perfect for us to walk around the major attractions in the city. The decor was antique looking and felt... More

Glad that you loved most of it, and yes, it was cool to be in town with the Pope! Regards the stairs, anyone who needs help just needs to shout. We might not have someone available that second, but within a while help with arrive! More

The staff and Hotel are just great. I stayed here just over a year ago and researching other areas in Italy, It reminded me about what a wonderful stay we had here.. We love a special person named Monti, who, is one one the nicest people on the planet. Although I was quite tipsy one night, Monti rescued me.. and... More

Once you get past the entranceway and stairs (not very comforting--it can be dark and if you have lots of luggage you won't be happy hauling it up stone stairs to the elevator) and the extremely claustrophobic elevator (2 people plus 1 luggage = panic attack if you are so inclined) you emerge in a welcoming atmosphere with very friendly,... Oh our stairs! Yes hundreds and millions stairs. Never in the history of the universe has an establishment put more spotlights on their stairs that we have! I can't praise the people enough. They were helpful, joyful and a load of fun any time we walked in. They recommended some shops to visit when requested and I can have no complaints at all. The location was ideal, just around the corner from the Ponte Vecchio and a 5 minute walk to everything we wanted to see. Equally... More

We can live with that! Our staff are fabulous - we train them and work them hard (including us, we are in that team!) and we think it shows. They are marvellous! Our building is 500 years old - combining that history (and new laws regarding what we can do in those buildings, and mostly what we can't do!) with... More

One of the best in town. Many attractions and restaurants near by. We had a couple maintenance issues in the room but was something the hotel fixed right away and showed a very positive attitude during our stay. Thanks to the great staff.

Staying in Uffizi

Neighborhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
