Hotel Alessandra was our first stop on our Honeymoon tour of Italy. Seated a couple of blocks from the River Arno in beautiful Florence, this is the place to go for a great nights rest. There are several restaurants and stores in the immediate vicinity, each with a unique twist on a traditional Italian food or good. The service was... More

PERFECT location. VERY comfortable. EXCELLENT, friendly service. OUTSTANDING VALUE. You can't do much better than that if you want true value. It's QUIET, within a few MINUTES walking distance of ALL the major attractions of the city, and yet on a quiet little street. Great little restaurants just outside the FRONT DOOR...dozens more within a minute or two stroll. Some... More

Don't let the stairs throw you off. once up stairs the room was fantastic. The bed comfortable and the staff wonderful, kind and helpful. I especially enjoyed the overall ambiance of the hotel, Being in central location was great, as we were able to come and go quickly to shop and sight see.

So glad that you enjoyed it, and even our stairs (best excuse ever for extra ice creams) didn't put you off. More

Hotel Alessandra was perfect for my mom and I. Our room was spacious and had a wonderfully working air conditioner. The breakfast was great which included a tasty customized latte. I especially liked how close we were to the center of town. Within minutes we could reach Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, Uffizi Gallery and a ton of restaurants and... More

What a treat to stay at this hotel, the best part being its staff. Andrea, the owner, is attentive and employs delightful employees They actually made staying at this hotel a true treat, accommodating us with humor (Monte especially; we wanted to pack him up and bring him home with us) and meeting our every need. The hotel is centrally... More

We stayed for just one night, during a heat wave that was sweeping Italy. The building that the Hotel is in is accessed by going through a door off a laneway, so not a normal Hotel entry. The local is very central to all attractions. The Hotel is accessed by going up a flight of stairs, on a large staircase... More

Well you loved everything and that is the most important thing! We are pleased about that, although can we say we are slightly disappointed with the overall rating :-( You were right that is has been incredibly hot here for the whole of July (slightly lower temperatures now, but not much!) But our guests are most definitely grateful for our... More

The real plus for this hotel is the excellent location. The price for a good size room (15) was also very good for such a handy location. We even had a view of the cathedral dome over the rooftops. Through the front door In a quaint little street one is first greeted by a double flight of stairs before you... More

One of the special things about our hotel is that virtually every room has a different view - we are glad that you enjoyed yours. Our men on the desk are good with heavy suitcases - they have had lots of practice! It saves us all money on gym membership!! So pleased that you enjoyed your stay and we hope... More

Stayed here for one night when we had a quick chance to visit Florence. We had stayed in Florence before at a hotel a little farther from the center and wanted a hotel nearer to sights and good food. We got exactly what we were looking for. The most difficult time we had was finding it. It's a reasonable walk... More

These pesky 15th century buildings! Understandably our town council has very strick rules about what we can put up outside the door of this historic building, and neon flashing lights are not allowed! It all has to be very small and subtle, almost invisible. We do recognise the difficulty and often post pictures of our main street door (which at... More

We spent 3 nights here and wish we had stayed longer. From the moment we arrived we were enchanted. The street the hotel is in is so quaint and full of character as was the hotel. Monti had us in hysterics and we were sorry he was not there to bid farewell on our last night. His dining suggestions were... More

Staying in Uffizi

Neighborhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
