This a great family run hotel and Daniela the owner is very helpful. This was our 3rd stay but this is the first time we have had a room at the back. It was quieter than the front facing rooms. It is in an ideal location in the centre of the town so can by noisy. There is a great... More

This hotel exceeded my expectations especially for the price that I paid. The lady who I assume is the owner or manager is very very nice and showed us where all the main attractions where on a map as we checked in. She even got the cleaner to clean our room straight away so we could get into our room... More

We have just completed a 4day stay at the Nuova Italia in Florence. When you book accommodation online ( fromAustralia) there is always that small concern that all will be as presented when you arrive. We were delighted with this hotel! Our room was immaculately clean, well maintained and with a new bathroom. Breakfast was fantastic.A very extended continental with... More

My fiancé and I booked this hotel from hotels.com before travel. Two days before arriving we called to verify our reservations,no problems. This hotel is within walking distance from the train station a major plus since we were in a foreign country and didn't need/ have a car. Once we arrived we meet Daniella, a real sweetheart. She was exceptionally... More

The room was basic, but clean with good amenities and the location was close to central train station, fairly quiet and handy to LOTS of cafes and restaurants. Interesting artwork everywhere too :) The staff were excellent and very helpful, calling to get us tickets to some galleries that we hadn't realized we would need to pre-buy.

This hotel is ideally located (5 minute walk from the train station/10 minute walk from the Duomo). If you don't mind walking, you can actually visit all Florence by foot while staying at that hotel. That's what we did. The hotel is old but very clean and the staff is very friendly. The only thing maybe worth improving would be... More

Great services mind and friendly. The room is clean and good enough with necessary facilities. The room is same as photo on website , no fake photo. It might not new and modern but clean and safe. There are 2 wifi that be able to cover both first and upper floor with very good signal.

Booked this hotel for overnight visit in Florence. location is walking distance from the train station and bus stops. it is situated near Duomo Cathedral and area of restaurants and stores. Bus stop to the Piazza Michaelangelo (must see) is just in front of the train station. Hotel itself is quite simple, remarkably clean and organized. however there is no... More

My wife and I booked this place because of the location and the fact they have good working air conditioning. It's a great place for the price. The bathroom might shock those who have never seen the toilet next to the shower head, but it was no big deal as they have shower curtains that prevent the toilet from getting... More

What a great find! Close to everything in Florence worth seeing..David, The Florence Cathedral, incredible world revered galleries, restaurants and cafes. The proprietor Daniella was just divine, extremely helpful and a credit to the sometimes forgotten art of true European hospitality. Located in a beautiful street opposite Lobs seafood restaurant this golden little B&B merges fantastic art pieces, quaint rooms... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
